the first several days into raw my skin was clearing up, now im breaking out again... :/ Maybe it has to do with what im eating? Too much sugar? Maybe i should cut out the honey.

Could just be detox.....my face has been a mess for about a month (been raw 30 something days) and is just now starting to clear up. Now if I could just get rid of this fever blister and swollen eye.

I hate to use the old detox excuse, but... :) I swear every time I go through a detox, my skin breaks out really badly. And yeah it usually does take a few days for it to happen. Of course, it could be the sugar too if you think you're eating too much of it. That happens to me too. Agave is a good substitute for honey--agave is actually vegan, and much lower glycemic than honey so it doesn't mess with your blood sugar as much.

Hey Samariah,
How long have you been raw?
It's hard to say without know what you're eating. Overall, the skin reflects what's occuring in our bodies so it very well could be detox. Perhaps focus on drinking lots of water (perhaps with lemon), green juice or smoothies, and anything to keep you clean and light, and it'll pass.
The only time my skin flares is around my period... could it be hormonal for you?

Please remember your skin is your body's largest organ, and what you eat, or don't eat has an effect on its condition.
Your skin will clear up, even when I have been less than 100 percent raw, I had awesome skin, and I was vegan. Imagine 100 percent.
Now I fasted, I did use colonics, I did a lymphatic system cleanse, and I ate loads of raw food.
I have hidradenitis supporativa, and I can tell you that it reacts as night follows day to what I eat. If I want no flareups, I have to eat vegan.
It's better this junk is coming out through your skin, as if it were to stay in and affect major organs, there is where you could face some serious health issues.
Your body will first resort to emptying your colon, so if you can get that clean and working smoothly, that is a good idea. Also try a parasite cleanse. That will make a difference.
If your body cannot dispose of waste through your bowels, your skin is an easy alternative, cause you have so much of it.
Also if you can take an enzyme supplement with your food to aid digestion if needed, that can help as well.
Drink lots of pure water if you can, up your green smoothies and juices, get lots of sunshine if possible, and think positive.
Your skin can and will get better.
Good luck.
Carla.
