Wow,
I went to a raw food talk last night in London. It was really good to meet like minded people and have the chance to talk to them about raw food.
The talk was Matt Monarch, and also there was Angela Stokes and Karen Knowler. They all looked fab and it is great to see in the flesh people who you have only seen in pixels on the web before!
We talked a lot out detox and also dealing with being a social being in a non-raw world.
It has really inspired me and I'm so glad I went.

That sounds like a great night, I would loved to have been there, though I have tickets for David Wolfe & Shazzie in Brighton in october.

You are so lucky! I get Karen Knowler's newsletter. It must have been lovely to get to see her in person. :)

Hi Frog,
Karen Knowler lists her public appearances and classes in her events diary online and in her newsletters. Shazzie also makes note of her upcoming appearances on her website.
I imagine other well-known raw personalities do the same.

I'd love to go to Shazzie's event in october with David Wolfe but it is just way too expensive for me :(

I read about it in Karen Knowler's email newsletter that she publishes on Friday afternoons. It was a real spur of the moment decision to go (i.e. I found out about it at 3.30pm and spent from 4pm - 7.30pm travelling to get there!)
There was about 30 - 40 people there so a good turnout. Also it was being filmed for a tv (but can't remember what channel) so if I hear when it is being shown i'll post that up there.
I think nearly everyone in the room put their hand up when he asked "Who is enjoying being on a raw diet?" so it is fantastic that the word is getting out there.
Sounds like there is demand for this type of event in London at least - perhaps we should think about having some kind of raw food event in the uk ourselves.

Ooo I'm in too. London is too far for me for just an evening though, although I appreciate that is where most of the UK interest is.
For anyone that doesn't know,
Karen's blogg is at: http://www.karenknowler.typepad.com/
Shazzie is: http://www.shazzie.com/

And yes, we should organize something for all of us!

Hey, in anticipation for my move I've been doing a little bit of research for London based raw fooders. I found this yahoo group:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/rawfooduk/
They are growing rapidly and it seems like there are a lot of people interested in having meet-ups. I just thought I would put the link here so we can sign up and meet more raw foodies. Plus all the London folk are reading this thread, so it's very convenient. ;)

Many thanks for the rawfooduk link - I've just applied to join!
I've only been striving towards raw for a month or so (since going to a detox in Devon) and despite all the useful US stuff it would be good to have access to a UK forum too . . .
