I am just starting out with raw food and I have to make easy and quick food so that this works for me. I love macadamia nuts but do they have to be soaked. I have a hard time with raw nuts but this is one i love, can I eat it without the soaking and still be getting the health benefits?
I am confused about this way of eating. I eat alot of green smoothies, salads with nuts(not soaked) and a little cooked meat for dinner as I worry about the protein. I do not have time and energy to dehydrate my food and make all these fancy recipes(though they do look good) but will I get enough nutrients with just fruit, veg, nuts(Not soaked unless I must) and sprouts?
please share your information with me, you all seem to know so much! thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi pbutter!

It's better if you can soak the nuts to wake up the enzymes, but I've eaten them unsoaked before in a pinch.

Read this from Alissa about protein :)

To be honest, most of my food isn't dehydrated or anything like that. I like keeping it simple, and it's working well for me. Everyone's different :)

I also keep it pretty simple and don't have much time -- or money -- to prepare or buy really gourmet foods. But it is definitely still doable!!! And I find that whereas before when I was on a SAD diet, I didn't like cooking or making anything and usually just bought frozen dinners and pre-made things (bleh!), I now ENJOY preparing new foods to try. But even when I don't have time, it's easy to grab some veggies or fruits and nuts and be satisfied.

The people here are really supportive so any time you have a question, just ask and you will definitely receive lots of information and helpful tips!

so would I be right in thinking that if I wanted to I could live on fruit, veg , nuts and seeds and not get sick? Do I need to count nutrients, fat and calories and such or can I just eat what I want as long as it is raw? I have read some books that have a wee bit of conflicting advice. Some advocate raw animal and fish protein occasionally while the others say it isnt neccessary. I am not really sure what the right answer is. Any thoughts would be great, thanks again for the info.
