I've been on this forum for a good long time now and gone up and down with varying degrees of raw. One of the hardest things for me has been eating out. My husband does NOT eat anywhere near raw, just the opposite but going out is part of our lifestyle. Dinner is never that big a deal but we go out every saturday morning...his fav. place is Cracker Barrel..you could get by as a vegetarian there, barely if you had to. But there is virtually no raw food other than lettuce.
I know I am in control of where we go or if we go but I feel the bottom line for me is that to make lifelong changes I have to find ways to blend both my husband's preferences with my own. To make raw work for me wherever I go under any circumstances and for him to enjoy himself as well as for me to.
So...this morning I ordered a blueberry muffin and fruit..choice of stewed cinnamon apples or sliced bananas. I asked for the banana whole and requested the ripest banana they had..I said if it looks too ripe THAT would be the right one!*s* I brought a bag of cherries with me and an orange...I happily ate the fruit, brought the muffin home for DH and was very, very happy with myself.
Then went to the whole foods HFS grocery and bought~
raspberries
blackberries
papaya
peaches
apples
melons
grapes
bananas
mangos
blueberries
oranges
cherries
spinach
asst greens
scallions
tomatoes
coconuts
avocados
coconut oil
ho shou wu
cocao nibs
almonds and
walnuts
yum, yum, yum.:) :) :) ..great beautiful raw foods for the week.
The breakfast thing might sound unimportant...but I am raw again and one thing builds on the thing before for me. Learning to make what positive adjustments you can to LIVE raw and not see it as a struggle is a HUGE deal for me. Just wanted to share my rawsome morning!!!:D
