Last night after I went to bed, I had to get up...when I tried the whole room was spinning wildly.
I spent about 1/2 hour this morning looking over my food journal for clues, but haven't figured anything out yet.
About 6 years ago I went through about 2 weeks of intense vertigo where I couldn't work, read, walk, or even turn over in bed without the spins.
Could this be detox, (I'm day 23) or should I look for a non-food related cause?

Oh I feel for ya, it's awful. I used to get vertigo alot and had it every day for a couple of months, & had to hang on to the bed to keep from falling off. However, after changing my diet, I have not had it at all since. A friend of mine had it and her doctor told her it was related to allergies, as she only got it at the same time each year.

The last time I had it they said it was due to an upper respitory infection that inflamed one of my nerves. But, I haven't been sick recently, so that's not the reason. It's really not a pleasant thing, sort of scary.
Thanks for you post!

I've had this happen often also, though not recently. There are some homeopathic little pills you can take. I've done that.. Maybe you are peeling another layer away. Toxic stuff moves through in many ways. Rule out anything else you may think it is, since I am not a doctor. But I went for about two months one time, being dizzy and lightheaded. My doctor, who's great, checked everything else, no infection, no allergy signs....and admitted it could just be toxins moving around and congratulated me for my growth! Cool! :D

Ooooh Beppa, I feel for you! I used to get the most horrible vertigo spells, they would last all day and I couldn't read, sleep, watch TV... it all made it worse, so I would just lay there.
I don't know what the "cause" is. It could certainly be detox (as they say we experience things from our past again as they release). It could just be that when you woke during the night, the body was right in the middle of working on something.
If it ever happens again, I find taking an apple cider vinegar bath (and submerging my head as much as possible) to bring great release. Also just being sure that my life and my diet are in BALANCE. I think mine was greatly emotionally based.

Thanks everyone. I feel better, still a little light headed...but the room spins haven't happened again.

My first vertigo attack came in 1971 ... it was horrid. My vertigo is/was due to a condition called Meniere's Syndrome. I've lost almost all my hearing, but after receiving acupuncture for well over a year, the spinning has finally stopped. Thank God! Maybe acupuncture would help you too even though your cause may be quite different.
