Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the raw lifestyle (actually started today) and I do have some questions. But i guess I'll post them on the discussion board. I am 30 years old. I'm a stay at home mom of an almost 5 year old boy and a two yr old girl. I do have Alissa's book and dvd. I did her raw food diet for 30 days actually about 6 months ago. But I think I got discouraged when I didn't lose any weight (except 6 pounds the first week). I am fourty pounds overweight and soooooo tired physically, mentally, and emotionally. It's come to the point where I am not able to function with my everyday life and responsibilties because of the excess weight/heaviness, tiredness/laziness, and mental confusion and feelings of being overwhelmed. Struggling for a while with the yo-yo thing and my weight. I didn't know then about this forum. If I had I'm sure I would have continued with so much support and encouragement. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from/ and chatting with you soon. I am very excited with begining again this raw journey. Thanks!

Hi Charika, I am 35 and have no kids, but understand your emotional issues regarding weight loss. I was 225 and I am currently 146 trying to be 130ish. . This is the smallest I ever remember being. I was always overweight as a child and through my college years. I want to be thin more than anything. I am trying raw starting on Monday July 30th. I am already vegetarian, so this shouldn't be that hard for me. I would love to chat with you about your concerns. Please don't hesitate to email me.

Welcome! Jump back into it. Maybe your body needs more time to detox, adjust, lose the weight, etc. Also, two words: green smoothies! They do wonders in addition to the 100% raw food diet!

Lucy: You beat me to it! I've jumped onto the green smoothie wagon! They really do help me to stay raw, and to really get the most benefit out of it.

Two more words: Green smoothies! :D

I am so glad you're here! Eating raw really does clear up mental fog and help with laziness, I've found! I wish you the best of luck!

Yes, I can't wait to try these green smoothies I keep hearing/reading so much about. They sound sooo yummy. I guess I'll go to the recipe section to find out how they're made- I've never made them before. Thanks again :)
