Some have been known to sprout it.

You can sprout organic wild rice, it's very dark, long rice. Alissa has a recipe for a rice salad in her book. The other rices, brown, etc. have been processed in some way or another.

Throw some cauliflower in a blender/food processor, and pulse until it's rice.

Dreamt Illusions,

Pulsing cauliflower looks like rice but to me doesn't taste like it so I would try wild rice.

I've had things at raw restaurants that used soaked wild rice--yummy! Tasted better than cooked rice to me. You can soak/sprout wild and some types of brown rice, but they have to be unprocessed and unsterilized. The brown rice is usually bitter and not so yummy, but wild rice is tasty. Apparently most rice (including wild) has been sterilized, so it isn't really raw, at least that's what I've read. Maybe some health food stores or online companies have truly raw wild rice.

I disagree (except for the part about Alissa's rice salad and it's delicious:) ).

IF your wild rice is dark, dark brown, etc., it is NOT raw, although it will provide the illusion of sprouting, it will not actually sprout. You can get raw wild rice but it is a super-specialty thing and is extremely difficult to obtain. RAW wild rice is GREEN. The wild rice we see here and there is not raw.

Lundberg family farms has raw rices that will actually sprout, brown, etc. They will sprout to the point of growing a little green plant, so they're raw fer sure.

A little chewy though!!:o

I like raw parsnips blended with pine nuts and a little vinegar to make sushi rice, rice for "dolmades" or whatever if that's the type of rice you're looking for. For a rice salad I sprout the Lundberg. Here's a link for you with an example. I don't know if ALL rices they carry sprout, but most of the ones I've tried in these gourmet packets do. You could always check with the company if you want. These are available conveniently at some HFSs, or comprehensive grocery stores.
