I just started drinking about 1 1/2 oz Wheatgrass with the juice from 2 apples in the morning starting yesterday. Do you see any results from it...if any? I'm just trying to be healthier & healthier.

I usually add a frozen cube of wheatgrass juice to my smoothie. GREAT energy booster.

When I have fresh cut grass, I will juice it and drink it by itself. Maybe a water chaser. Then wait 20 minutes before eating. It certainly helps with mind clarity, helps my food cravings and allows me to add that extra GREEN in my diet. I just put frozen wheatgrass on my daughter's sunburn. That helped tremendously! There are so many benefits to wheatgrass. Take in what you can. Optimum effect would be to drink it straight. :D

Yes - what Raw Mom said! Also - read Ann Wigmore's book, "The Wheatgrass Book" - excellent - fast - informative - I read it in 2 hours!

You can grow your own.

Or my local HFS has frozen in their store. They could/would probably order it for you.

You can buy it live or cut. I think it is only the East coast that they deliver to though.
I was in Petco the other day and they had little trays of wheatgrass for sale - I guess for pets to eat. Don't know if it's something people could ingest.

The pet stores are carrying some wheatgrass now. What's nice about that is you can use a second and third growth for animals. It's hard to keep that grass on the shelf because it needs to be watered daily. Most pet stores are not on top of that. After having a hard time getting fresh wheatgrass, I decided to start my own business selling seed and grass. It's almost up and running. Wheatgrass runs in my family. My brother is a master grower. So I figured, why not me......I'll keep you posted. Keep growing it yourself if you can't get it anywhere else. Frozen is great to have on hand. And if you can't drink all the grass you have, try freezing it yourself.

Raw Mom...
I bought a large tray of living Wheatgrass. How often are you supposed to water it? I'm juicing 1 and a half oz a day...but until it is gone, i was wondering how often it should be watered.

id be interested in learning more about this too! id like to start growing my own... although i havent seen the seeds for it anywhere  or a juicer! lol. ive got some preparing to do. the ice cube idea is fantastic.
so, if you put it in a smoothie or something, then it is not as effective than on an empty stomach?
would that maybe be good to start with though? ive heard it can make your body react a bit funny at first. is this true, and would combining it in a juice/smoothie help your body to adjust to it?
cheers :)

Yeah, you found a tray of living grass? Great....When you start to see a second shoot on your grass, you should cut it all. Do you know how long it has been growing before you bought it? Once cut, it will last in the fridge up to a week. Or buy some of those Evert Fresh bags and it will last two! If you think it is still growing, water it once a day until it runs through. Try to keep it well ventilated. The grass itself and the root system. I grow it on special racks which keeps the bottoms open to the air. If you are looking for optimum effect, juice it and sip it right away. If you are having trouble with the taste, try a little water after each sip. If that still doesn't work for you, mix it with some cucumber juice or celery juice. Keep the green thing going. But yes, optimum benefit comes from just the juice by itself. I have my moments when I can do that, and when I just can't. For me, it's emotional. At the institute where my brother and parents work, I watch people just hanging out, taking their time, drinking two ounces of juice. It sometimes can take up to one hour! It's all about the experience. IMO, the grass will mix immediately with toxins in your system. That's why I sip it slow. Some people don't have that affect. It doesn't happen every time to me, but it does happen. All depending on where you are on your path. Heck, just growing it in your house will benefit your body. Put it by your bed for more oxygen in the air while you sleep! For more info on my new business, you can email me personally. I am not ready to ship yet, but will let you know when that happens. :D
