Hey everyone,

Has anyone tried the cheeze spreads made by Playfood? I found them at this one store in LA and they're soooo good! I'm totally addicted! There are 4 varieties: cheeze, nacho cheeze, cream cheeze, and sour cream. They're made with truly raw cashews, and seem to be all raw except some have nutritional yeast. Here's their website, though it seems to be under construction because a lot of links don't work: http://playfood.org/index.html

Okay, next question: does anyone know if/where I can buy them in Northern California?? I emailed the company, but no response yet (and the store locater on the site doesn't work). Rainbow doesn't have it, Whole Foods doesn't have it, nor do the local hfs's. So far I've only seen it at that one place in LA... and that's a really long drive just for cheeze :D Hmm, maybe I could convince Rainbow to start carrying it...?

Looks like some interesting products. Too bad they can't be bought on-line. It's only in 2 states.

I only saw places in Kansas that sold it. What store in L.A. did you find it?

will do!!

Also i looked on the map, being in colorado i thought hey maybe i'll drive to KS to get some raw cheese product!! haha but i'm use to the size of new england states, and all the locations are on the other side of KS. Maybe one of the stores they sell at would ship to use for a litte more $?

That list of stores on their site is obviously incomplete, because I found it at a CA store not listed there. The store was Erewhon Market (AWESOME store with tons of raw food) in Los Angeles.

Hmm, I was hoping some other Northern CA people had tried it and liked it, so we could all go bug Rainbow market to start carrying it :D

the_lab_rat,

Oh these look really cool. Wish I lived in California, I'm in Canada myself but love California.

Do you have their book? If so, and the recipe is not turning out properly, call them as explain what is different - you will get a response to assist you.
