It being summer, I have more time to roam around outside, however my mum makes my food...so I try to go out as much as I can so I can just get money for food rather than home cooked food. I bought a pack of mixed fruit and nuts 250g and well I ate half of it than felt full...so I want something more balanced rather than a fruit nut medly. any ideas? I need the protein but nuts are very high in calories so im a tad worried im having too many calories.

Hi Merat!
Have you done green smoothies? You could prepare them in the morning and take em with you in a flask. Or how about making some sunflower seed pate, you can easily put em in a lunch box with a load of crudites (sp?)
How about cabbage roll ups or nori rolls.
Do you have any of the raw food books??
Where abouts in London do you live btw?? Always nice to have another Brit here!! :)

I just pack a bunch of fruit and it's satisfying :)
Today I packed a nectarine and a pound of blueberries for lunch to eat while I was at work

lol yeah I live in kingston upon thames, in greater london near richmond. Yeah Fruit smoothies and stuff would be perfect problem is that its too noisy to make...thus it will wake my parents in the mornin, and my parents wont even let me use my own smoothie maker. Its mad! They bought it for me as a present yet my mum refuses to let me use it, only shes allowed, and Im not drinkin her smoothies as she ALWAYS puts milk in them so Id want to avoid that. Prehaps just plain fruit is the option but im worried about protein...hmmmm:confused, I dont have any raw foodist books...I might go to a health store and check for some.

Don't worry so much about protein, it's not as important as you think it is. When you were a baby, your mother's breastmilk was 2% protein. Most fruits and veggies are 2% protein. You'll be fine as long as you are eating :)
Also, greens are a great source of amino acids (protein building blocks)

Then make it in the evening and put it in the fridge. Smoothies will keep for a few days just fine.

Yes I was thinking that. Also when I used to make smoothies I used to get the old "Oh, god, she's got that bloddy blender on again". It was SOOOO annoying. Or make something that will last a few days in the fridge/freezer and make it all in one go. I usually do that!!!!
You live in Kingston??? That is so cool. I live in Teddington and Rossk from here is also a kingston-er!!!!:D

Yep green smoothies. Or make "burgers" and freeze them - use as needed. Make RAWvolution's onion bread - freeze and eat as needed.
The Raw Deviled Egg-less "egg" spread and veggies is an awesome lunch.

Hi Merat-
I personally don't think you can go wrong with a salad. It's a very nourishing meal. A big salad made with mixed greens, any veggies you want such as cabbage, cucumbers, peppers, etc. Change it up, make it interesting. Also, I always top mine with different kinds of sprouts because they are high in protein and fiber. I know for a fact that alfalfa sprouts are an excellent source of protein with all the essential amino acids. Make a dressing you really like the night before when everyone is awake. You can make the salad the night before also and put the dressing in a separate little container. Then the morning of, just pack everything in a small cooler (one with a strap that you can put over your shoulder) and head out. If you want a little more fat, you can also pack some sunflower seeds or something.
Be well,
Francesca
