Just started experimenting with Raw. Read 4 or 5 books - which included recipes. I've gained 4 pounds in the last week. Not good! Help. A few questions...how does one keep off the weight with the nut loafs, nut milk, etc.? Are there more convenient ways to buy prepared raw food for a busy lifestyle? How does one deal with the urge to heat food up (don't have a dehydrator yet) when eating leftovers?
Also...this is the first time posting, blogging, whatever I'm doing. Hopefully, this will work.

Hey Modi - welcome! Read 4-5 books eh? Any one of 'em Alissa's? It's the best out there - plus her DVD. What are you eating that allowed you to gain weight? 100% raw? And one CAN keep the weight off with nut mylk, nut loafs, etc. because when one becomes 100% raw, the energy that takes over is unreal. You get up and move and move and move.
May I suggest two words?
Green Smoothies.
Add these to your diet. You will see amazing results - in addition to being 100% raw - key words - one hundred percent raw...

Welcome!
May I ask how much produce you eat? Do you find that you're consistently eating nuts and fatty things (avocado, nuts, mylk, oils, etc)?
Personally I've had better success if I keep my "fat" category down to a minimum. That doesn't mean I deprive myself, but I aim to have more of the raw, fresh produce. It makes me feel better, but that's just me :D
Experiment with your food intake. Sometimes in the beginning people will gain a few pounds because of all the extra fiber ... and your body might freak out a bit at first, but give it time :)
Glad to have you on board!
