Hello,
I have an agreement with a farmer which he delivers fresh vegetables to me. They said that we are going to have potatoes next week or so. Can we eat RAW Potatoes????? I heard when i was young that doing this could give you warms. I know that you cannot eat raw beans, would it be the same for a raw potato, i wonder.
Also, what are the beans that we can eat raw???
Thank you for your time

I'm going to try dehydrating them and making the chips in Alissa's book for my nieces and nephews

What kind of potatoes? Red? Russet? Or other? I've read that red potatoes can be quite good for you juiced. I've done it before and it's a little intense - needs to be mixed with water or something. But I read you shouldn't eat russets raw. (Can't remember why, sorry) And if you eat any potato raw you should cut out any green parts or any parts that are beginning to bud.
Otherwise, you can probably make chips.

Here is some small information on Green Potatoes. Personally, I would simply avoid them as being an un-appealing food....heh..heh....but that's just me. :)

I used to eat raw potatoes all the time when I was a kid. Yeah they take some getting used to. You can throw them in the juicer with carrots and other veggies. Potatoes do have vitamin and minerals in them when raw. I say get them and experiment.

raw potatoes are perfectly healthy, however solanine has toxicity, and potatoes make solanine when they're exposed to light. You want to make sure there's no traces of green tinge on those potatoes. Also, you could peel them in case the farmer left them exposed to light to give yourself extra protection. Store them dark yourself in a thick paper bag in a dark cupboard or drawer in the fridge.
You'll want to make raw potato chips with those IMO.;)
I like the ones that are blue in the middle, or red in the middle! I don't eat a lot of potato, but there's no need for those to go to waste.

Ah Thank you for all the valuable informations.
I will give a try to make potato chip then as long there isn't any greens or bitter taste.
