since going raw, I have noticed a few, for the first time ever I have no red rash or ingrown hairs after waxing bikini line it just looks like smooth normal skin, also I noticed before going raw the nails on my little toes were growing in at an angle, they look almost normal now, oh and the best one yet, I read about this one but found it hard to believe, I never have to use deoderants I have no body odour even if I have been working hard, how good is that:D

I read an article about how bad sunscreen is. I knew it was bad and have not used it since going raw this spring. Well it also said that if you eat lots of anti ox foods your body produced natural sun block. Hmmm then I got to thinking. I love my yard and work in it EVERY weekend. And last year I would need sun screen within 20 min (TEXAS SUN HOT). This last weekend was VERY hot with no clouds. I was out in the sun 9 hours on SAT. helping a friend with his yard. Then the wife and me lounged at my pool all day on Sunday. Probably 6 hours. I barely even tanned ! no burn very slight tan but not much.
Nothing like I used to be. I love frozen berries in my smoothie I put the mixed medley in there then extra blueberries in most of my smoothies. It works!!!!!!!
Oh yeah 11 hours of yard work on sat.??? Um that’s raw at work !! 5 hours of it was busting sod with shovels!! My fat a@@ would have NEVER been able to do that.

Oh yeah! All those little changes will add up and become bigger changes. You figure - our skin is our biggest organ, so that is going to "show" how healthy one is. Folks tell me I've got the glow (see my profile photo). Well yes, I do - I'm healthy from the inside out! It DOES show. Have you ever seen folks with horrid bags/circles under their eyes? Their skin is white/gray looking? Their hair is like straw? These folks are so unhealthy.
How long have you been raw? I've been raw a year now and so many changes have taken place (read my testimony at my signature line). And now it is showing! Cool advertising, eh?

Yep my skin looks AMAZING!
I have a shaved head, few piercings, some tattoos, and a goatee style mustache But I look so pretty!
This may seriously hurt my bad boy rep!

Not only the physcial benefits, but the mindset one gets after going raw - it really is mind blowing! ~ Cathy

Cathy - that is so true. My mental clarity if so much sharper. And that just makes sense. When your body is healing it allows your mind to expand and take in new information and learn and listen and appreciate. It takes on a whole new meaning of LIFE!

I have only been raw for 3 or 4 months now so I still have a long way to go. Sun sensitive skin has been a long term problem so if it helps this it really will change my life, I am just about to go blueberry picking or wild bilberry picking to be more accurite, I will have to start putting them in my green smoothies. Something else I have noticed is my eye whites have a blue tint to them anyone else notice this.

I don't know if this is possible but after about a week of going raw, I also feel that I don't need--or even WANT--to use deodorant. Why put unnecessary chemicals on my body???

ok, well I'll take the plunge and report a change that is a little "personal" but I'm sure others have experienced it as well. I find that because my body is a lot cleaner internally that there are more trips to the washroom to eliminate but that the "eliminations" are odourless. Kind of a nice perk. Really makes you wonder what sort of nasty bacteria and chemicals are in the SAD. Yikes! Raw really is so pure.

Hi,
If you can't go without sunscreen, try going to www.ewg.org Part of their website is called SkinDeep. They list sunscreens as well as most other products for our bodies in order of safe to unsafest. I have changed all my products over a period of time. Everything from deoderant to shampoo to toothpaste, etc. It's a great source of info.

Thanks for this site, very interesting. Sunscreen is a big problem for me but I hope in time my skin will react less to the sun.

In my opinion you pointed out one of the most important changes that happens in the body when you go raw. That change happens inside where you don't see it, it happens in the GI tract. Fresh raw garden foods naturally support the "friendly" bacteria that make a person feel good.

When you detox you may be kinda smelly or maybe not.
I Buy BULK celtic sea salt and use it for mouth wash.
I also put it in a fine mist spray bottle and use it for deodorant.
IT WORKS WELL!!!! just wait till your dry befor putting on a shirt

Of all the little things I've experienced, the best of all is that I'm happier! My brain says, "Thanks for sending in some nutrients for me to thrive finally!":D

Me too, Stina. It's amazing how quickly that happened for me, after just a week of being raw!

I am detoxing right now so I have a huge fever blister on my mouth and my face has broken out but other then that my nails don't curl anymore...they are real straight and strong. My hair is shiny and the amount of gray has been reduced. I have energy now that I didn't have before and I am not yelling at everyone. :o

1. On SAD I had very long, very painful periods thanks to yucky food and blood thinner medication. I've only been Raw a week, but my period lasted half the time and I barely had any cramps at all! :D
2. My skin is trying to clear up!
3. My clothes are already getting too big.
4. My sleep is much better.
5. My bathroom visits have been pleasant without cramping or pain or straining, and they're just about odorfree. (TMI? LOL)
6. My headaches have diminished.
7. General feeling of YES I'M LIVING MY LIFE!!! :D
