Has anyone read Juliano's Raw uncook book? It was my first raw book 6 years ago and I still love some his intense flavors. I've not heard anyone mention it. Wondering what you all thought...

rawtalk,

I got Juliano's book out of the library and love his Mocksarella cheese recipe. It's cheesy and fills my craving for cheese.

You should try it if you haven't already. I'm going to get the book out of the library again to try more recipes and probably buy it.

I have the book. Tried his hummus recipe and didn't like it at all.

It was my first book also! I love alot of the recipes, firey lava soup, tuna, choc pudding, meat loaf. All the books I have gotten after his seem easy.

I got his book, and made a couple of the recipes the first time I went raw. But a lot of his just were either really lengthy or calling for things I couldn't find at the time, so I didn't make them. I still have it. I like easier recipes better, to be honest. But when the gourmet kick kicks in, I'll probably pull his book back out and see if there's something I wanna give a go at then.

There's been many a discussion on here concerning which books are better then others. I basically have them all - Raw included. So many are too "gourmet" for me, but I've tried different recipes from them all. If you do a search, you'll find which books folks prefer.
Me? I love Alissa's and will always go back to hers. Not only for the recipes, but the information...

Honestly, I got that book a few years ago and it was so hard it turned me OFF of raw...I didn't 'come back' until I found Alissa's book, and the Rainbow Cuisine book.

shine72,

Yes, I agree. There were so many recipes I wanted to try but didn't have the ingredients. I'm on the fence whether to buy it or not. Alissa's is on my top list right now.

I liked it a lot! Got it from the library a while ago, tried a few recipes, and will definitely buy it once I have more money. Although, I think it's out of date compared to what he serves in his restaurant now. I've heard since then he cut out dates and a few other items that are used in the recipes in the book. I'm hoping he decides to do a new book that has some of the recipes currently served at his restaurant!

I love his fettucini sauce which is fairly easy to make. And I discovered sprouted quinoa from Juliano and I make it at least once a week, it's so fast and easy. His chocolate suace is great ("Black Tar") and I lived in Hawaii for threee years and I had many many coconut trees and a cocunet scraper so it was easier back then. He uses a lot o cocunet water and flesh. I also make his flax seed crackers once a week. Very good for flushing the system! I ordered Alissa's book and I know it will be awesome!
