No and yes. You can also get a small coffee grinder or a personal blender for nut and seed grinding.

Hi. I have both containers. VitaMix recommends that you keep the two separated and that the wet won't work as well if you use it to grind things. Yeah, the coffee grinder comes in handy also.

I only have the wet for my VM. I have a coffee grinder for the dry "stuff". Works great!

I have both the wet and the dry, and I use them for their prescribed purposes.
I have tried grinding Tahini in the wet jar, and it just didn't work NEARLY as well as when I use the dry jar.

I have only the wet container. But I have two containers. I was thinking maybe I would by the dry one too.....still deceiding.

But for now I use my food processor or I have a little coffee mill for small jobs like flaz seed or spices.
