I typically eat very simply. Fruit for breakfast and dinner and a huge salad for lunch. About once a week I make a dessert to have spaced throughout the week. So I don't devot much of my time to preparing my food.
But what about you?
How much time do you devot to making your food?
How often do you make and have "gourmet" raw meal (ie, something besides just fruit or very simple salads)?
How often do you make and have desserts?
Hi. I eat simply also. It depends on what I have a taste for. Usually fruit, salads, green smoothies, fruit smoothies, some sort of dehydrated cracker, nut pate, and nut milk. I just bought some cacao nibs to try. Salads fulfill me, esp if I include an avocado or a little bit of nuts. As far as dessert and making other gourmet meals....probably once or twice a month.

I eat very simply, and practically live on green smoothies and salads. Usually snack on fruit or will have some nuts and raisings. Not really big on desserts or raw crackers, but will make some pate or kale chips once in a while. ~ Cathy

Well, I eat seasonally. This time of year I do basically green smoothies, fresh veggies and fruits. I do have the RAWvolution onion bread once in a while on hand in the freezer. Even nuts - I really haven't had too many of late. Now winter I did more dehydrated foods. I don't have time to dedicate like I did in the winter. I'm out in my gardens more.

hi, i tend to eat simple too as i am out alot and when i am at home i really don't want to spend time making meals. it is not because its raw, as i was like that before.
i don't tend to eat desserts, i generally eat salad and veg, but i do need to eat more fruit. sometimes i crave desserts so thats when i will make some of Alissa date and nut torte or something especially yummy.
i do however make an effort perhaps twice/three times a week, and make something more than just a quick salad. i think variety is good. i also try and buy something unusual or something i haven't tried before, i find that works for me.

- the occasional raw soup or cup of berries w. cacao...
...basically.
Boring some might say - but I just love eating this way:D
Of course I alternate the ingredients/dressings etc.

The amount of time it takes me to prepare food is the duration from walking into the produce section until I check out!! :)
I only spend time preparing my salads, aka putting veggies on a plate then adding dressing. I eat fruit and nuts simply.
I spend virtually no time on food prep.
I eat fruits and veggies in as close to their natural state as I can and, at this point, don't really make salads.
The simpler my diet, the better I feel.

not a whole lot of time..i'm the queen of salads and fruit. i used to drink a lot of green smoothies but i got tired of them. so i replaced it with more salads. i just bought a new food processor so i've been experimenting with desserts, but i found that most of them are too rich for me.

Well, y'all are more pure than me 'cause I love messing around with recipes. I have some calling to feed others and expose them to my Raw lifestyle. I would like to eat more simply in the future and now I am eating high Raw, not all Raw. I find when I take more time to do a deluxe Raw meal, I'm less inclined to eat other food. But I love doing food prep and find it relaxing and meditative and self-nurturing. The more recipes I try, the more I find special ones where I'd really rather eat them than SAD food. That's my strategy!

Other than smoothies, salads, and super simple desserts, I spend very minimal time preparing food for myself. I have to still cook SAD for my family and that pretty much takes all the love out of food preparation for myself. My food is pretty much half of what I prepare for my family.....the raw half. Heh...funny, I never thought of it that way, my family is 50% raw and they don't know it.

I eat very simple green smoothies for breakfast, fruit for lunch and nori or vege rolls for dinner. Sometimes a salad if I feel like making one.

Glad to see what everyone has to say.
I also eat as simple as possible.
Some of the raw recipes I've seen in books and online look so complex!
Sometimes I go out and buy a whole bunch of raw food and plan to make a "gourmet" meal or dessert. But then I get home, and it doesn't happen.
For instance, I'd purchase ingredients for a raw apple pie - but once I arrive home... I just eat the apple and forget about everything else! :p

I eat very simple and often do a lot of mono eating throughout the week because it's more convenient. If I want to be more creative or explore new raw territory, I have to wait for the weekend....

I cant eat simply or I would be eating constantly. Mono meals dont work for me - I'm always hungry with them. I cooked and baked before raw and I probably put in the same amount of prep time now. Not every single day but at least 4 days a week. I LOVED to cook before so I cant see giving that part of me up now. Oh well! I guess I'm the only one here. :)

There are days that I feel like I am always in the kitchen. I eat mostly fruit for breakfast & lunch (including green smoothies) but I make lots of different things that I have to have for dinner & the typical staples that I need in my kitchen. I also love making desserts!

You're not quite the only one! :) I feel kind of like a minority here too because I don't think I could stay raw if all I ate were salads and smoothies. I've always loved experimenting in the kitchen. Raw food makes it really fun, like it's a challenge to try to recreate my favorite cooked recipes. Usually I try out a few new recipes each week... and finally some of them are starting to turn out ok, LOL :D
