Cacao & Dogs?

Hi I know chocolate is unsafe for dogs, what about cacao?

Thanks! He loves a bit of my smoothie in the morning, but today I added a little cacao so I didn't give him any (just in case). He's still pouting! Thanks for the post!

Hi,
my small dog actually got into my bag of cacao and ate probably about a tablespoon. (but she is very small) cacao actually has more of the compund that dogs can't have than regular chocolate. I took her to the emergency vet and they said, "Is she always this hyper?" Her heart rate was increased and her temperature was up They fed her charcoal and did some other things.
Now I am very careful with my dogs and cacao.
