Hi - I am new to this (1 month or so) and I am missing cheese, crackers and bread. I have found some recipes for cheeses/nut butters that I will try, but I am looking for recipes for crackers or bread. The catch - I don't have a dehydrator and I don't want to buy one until I know I will really stick with this. Any ideas?

Hi Strong!
Is there a health food store or a Whole Foods around you? Some places have ready made flax crackers that are pretty good. Or you could even order some online. www.OneLuckyDuck.com has some cheesy crackers (http://oneluckyduck.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=284). They cost a pretty penny, but if you really want crackers ... :)

Good advice Jenna - also drink green smoothies -they really take away cravings - quickly!

Mother's market has a HUGE variety of raw crackers and breads... My faves are the Mauk Family Farms Raw flax seed crisps in JALAPENO flavor. I eat them with fresh guac and it totally takes away my cravings for cheese... and I LOVE cheese!

Maybe just a cheap one at Walmart $40 and if you decide not to eat raw you can still do some dehydrating of fruit leather, flowers etc.

I have cheapo dehydrator and it makes crackers just fine. Takes a bit of time, maybe 24hrs? But, if you can pick up a cheap one it will open your worlld up to new possibilities! :D
