PATIENCE! :p

I finally, after many failed, yet edible attempts, have perfected making almond butter in my Vita Mix.

I put about 1 cup in the VM, and blended on low for about 30 minutes in total, stopping every 30seconds to 1 minute to scrape the sides.

I stopped after about 5 minutes of this and went to bed. Then I started again this morning after my run. Let it rest once it was on it's way to goodness, showered, and then finished it up.

YUMMY.

For breakfast today I took, one heaping spoonful of the almond butter, mixed it with 3 cups water, honey, and cinnamon. TASTED MY SWEET ALMOND MILK, then added 2 frozen bananas and ice cubes.

YUMMY. Who needs vanilla milk shakes when you got ALMOND MYLK SHAKES.

Thanks for the hint.... I guess I need more patience:o

I tried making almond butter the other day, and I was
getting really aggravated. I think I'll try it just before bedtime
tonight and finish up tomorrow morning.;)

are you saying you just put one cup of almonds in the vita mix and process them until they are like a butter??? Are they oily? do you need to add anything else?

oh brilliant.
I tried and tried, but they just didnt form any sort of butter when I made it before. I added salt and oil and it was just disgusting.
But you have given me hope!!
Mind you, I don't have a vitamix which could be the blasted flaw in an otherwise perfectly almond shaped plan!

i kinda do the same thing with the food processor. instead of waiting i just add a little of my macadamia butter (which blends to butter in minutes. so oily) to the almond powder and that extra oill gets it goin.

With sesame seeds, I found the trick was to use the DRY container for the vitamix. It made a HUGE difference. And I added a bit of cold pressed sesame oil.

I wanted to make it with NOTHING added.

And I did. :D
