Dried chickpeas?

I bought a bag of dried chickpeas at the store. I would like to sprout them but how do i know if they are raw? I guess i will find out when they sprout or not but are dried beans sold in places like Wal Mart raw?

I sprout Chickpeas from Walmart all the time! They should sprout.

Seeing if things will Sprout is ALWAYS an Excellent Test for RAW.....Soak them 6 hours or overnight............

Ok, i soaked them overnight. They got a lot bigger but they are still very hard. Can I eat them like this? I wanted to soak them to put on a salad or something.

bumping this because I'd love to know the answer also...I don't have sprouting experience but I want to do some stuff with chickpeas....

Can they be eaten?
