that since being raw, coffee does NOT have the same effect anymore...

for example, i used to drink coffee to make me feel "normal" in the sense that I would then be really alert and on top of things.

Now...I feel like if I grab a cup of coffee it is totally out of habit...because it does not make me feel more awake at all. Lately it only makes me feel really anxious, nervous, and on edge.....and sleepy/out of it! Not "normal" at all!

Coffee is the last unraw thing I have to give up, and I feel like all of a sudden my body is finally ready to leave it behind. Now, I find that I crave fresh fruit after drinking coffee to help curb the ill side effects.

It's really scary to give up the crutch but Im slowly drinking it less and less with no signs of detox yet. Strange that it should happen so suddenly.

Yuuuuuuuuup :D Drink lots of water and you wont detox it as harsh. It is drying you out from the inside is why.

I think I am over my need to drink coffee, but my mind still thinks about it. I did go through a detox. It was like a stuffy head sinus headache thing that lasted about 3 days. Could have been a summer cold, but it happend a few days after I quit the coffee.

Today is day 4 for me of no coffee. I didn't stress myself over quitting and knew that one day I just would and that is exactly what happened. I was down to only about a half of a cup in the morning, got up one morning made my cup and only drank a few sips and dumped it out a few hours later, the next day I woke up and went to pour it and realized I didn't even want it. Instead I made myself a big glass of water with lemon and guzzled it. I had a tiny headache that first day but nothing afterwards. Now I just feel a sense of victory! I have been wanting to give up coffee for years and now it is done! Yeah!!!!!!

Oh, I love coffee!

Actually, scratch that, I love the SMELL of coffee, it doesn't taste anything like it smells unless you add some sugar and cream to it!

When I wait in line at Whole Foods for my smoothie I squeeze the coffee bags and smell them, soooo delicious! The smell is satisfying enough for me now. Now that I know how toxic coffee is, I don't really want it anymore.

I used to be a barista. I could make a damn good cappuccino. I then became vegan and made soy cappuccinos for myself. Yes, I could froth that soy stuff pretty well. Now I can't even sip a cup of coffee. If I have to buy something at a coffee shop, I usually buy whatever and not even drink it, just to appease the establishment.

I'm also a chocaholic, but I haven't touched that stuff in ages. I need to find some truffles. Giving up caffeine can be done. I used to love Red Bull. Now I rather be fresh and wide-eyed. I want to feel clean inside.

I have been a barista for the past 2 years + ! So I understand how strange it is to NOT have a cup of coffee permanently attached to the hand. It's funny, I like the smell of steaming milk even though I would never taste the stuff. The thought of milk repulses me, but the smell can be really soothing. Weird.

I was also a COOKIEholic. Chocolate chip. I ate cookies every single day. Now I never crave chocolate or any type of junk food chocolate stuff. Fruit is sweet enough.

My poor husband. I get so paranoid. I'm like "What was that behind my back??? THAT FACE YOU MADE!! ... behind my back!!".... or, it's like "I know you took five dollars from my purse"... "I KNOW YOU DID CHRIS JUST STOP LIEING & COME OUT WITH IT".... "You look me in my face & lie straight in my eyes!!" Then I find the receipt & it's all the store error.

Seriously, we will fight for entire weekends, straight through if I drink any coffee.

The taste is completely different too. Even though I've always preferred it black. My excuse for that has always been that it takes away from the flavor of the coffee when you add milk, cream or sugar. I just liked it straight black. Even a whole mug of straight black espresso.

Oh my god, when I drink coffee I think that EVERYONE is talking about me. Especially when Im at work (I wait tables). I think that all my tables are talking bad about me! It's so insane. When I am level-headed again I think to myself, "wow, what was my problem?"

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets like this!

I started to quit coffee in January. I had a three pot per day addiction (no joke) that I had maintained for at least 4 years.

For a month I switched to decaf then for a month went to green tea. After that, for a month or so, I would drink a cup or two every now and then but it was always decaf. Toward the middle of May I cut it out completely. I've had a few cups here and there since then and ALWAYS regret it. One cup will send me through the roof with jitters, anxiety, and that general 'on' feeling. I can't stand it....but it smells sooooooo good.

It just amazes me that I could drink three pots in one day and not even notice the caffeine, when now one cup sets me off.
