I just bought two bags bc they were on sale. I've heard that raw peanut consumption is unsafe though due to fungus or something? Is this true?

yes, I believe it is... I've heard they are covered in mold which is a form of fungus (?).

I won't eat them... and there are so many other nut varieties to use. unfortunately they are more expensive than peanuts.

In Spoutman's book, he says that you can actually sprout them and they become a pea sprout rather than a nut. He says it is one of the most difficult "nuts" to sprout.

I don't want to not eat them, but im scared they might have mold on them. I wonder if there is anyway i could know if they had mold or not.

In the book The China Study it talks about how you can eat all the aflatoxin you want so long as you don't eat animal products or at least keep your consumption of animal protein under 10% of calories consumed.

Shuar peanuts don't have aflatoxin. But they are a lot more expensive than Georgia peanuts, at least in North Carolina.
