For a few days, I have had very little sleep in the evenings. I go to bed & totally wake up for some reason. And then the next morning, I am totally wiped out & feel like doing absolutely nothing. And then at night, it happens again - I wake up. How can I switch this around to where I have energy during the day & can sleep at least a little at night?
I'm off all coffee, caffeine, chocolate, etc. I don't remember having this much energy when I was even doing caffeine! I don't mind the energy - I would just like it during the day time. When I'm not working, I try to stay on the same schedule as if I were working - just to keep things balanced. Can someone give me some suggestions? Do you think a food I'm eating in the evening could be giving me that kind of energy?
Fortunately, I have energy this morning & am ready to tackle the house. I just don't want to go to bed tonight & wake up again.
TIA for all advice & help!

Do you drink a lot of green smoothies? They help me feel really regulated when it comes to sleep. :)

I have tried & tried & tried to like green smoothies but to no avail. I wonder if maybe I am doing something wrong with them?
Plus the only thing I have is a food processor with an 's' blade but that doesn't seem to chop the veggies all that great or maybe I'm not processing them long enough. I really want to like green smoothies. I really want to drink green smoothies. But I don't want to drink something I don't like. I think maybe - if the veggies were totally liquified - I would like the green smoothies far better.

livenraw- I have made green smoothies that I love and cannot put down and others that I can hardly swallow! so definitely know what you mean, but they can be quite delish!
I think you should definitely invest in a blender.. I've never tried a fp, but a blender works well.
Freeze the fruit and use plenty of it. I usually freeze 2 bananas and some berries.
Then add a large handful of spinach, I would start w/ spinach b/c it doesn't have such an overwhelming green taste.
I think its better to start with less greens, until you reach the point where you like the balance of greens/fruits.
I don't think you can go wrong with this simple combo to begin
2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen berries
1 large handful spinach
enough water to blend

I have a lot of energy too at night and I wake up sometimes at 4:00 AM and can't go back to sleep. I had to increase my Malatonin so I wouldn't be a zombie in the morning.

Dahlia, thank you for your green smoothie suggestion. I have a very old blender (about 20 years old) but decided to freeze some bananas & strawberries & then throw a handful of spinach along with some purified lemon water in the blender & pray that it would blend - and it did! It is actually a smoothie I really like! I'll start increasing the greens as I go along! It's definitely not green today - it's purple! I am enjoying my purple smoothie!:D

Try exercising or being really active during the day so by evening you're exhausted. Also not eating sweets at night helps me.
i've read dehydration can also give you a surge of energy at night.
could just be a phase too :)
