Hi!
I've been 100% raw for 2 months now, YEA! However, the past 3 days I've been so hungry! I wake up famished, something very new to me, and can't seem to eat enough. I noticed a few days ago I was actually getting tired of the food I was eating before I got full. Strange too, I've almost grown intolerant of the foods I once loved, ie. green smoothies, pears and romaine lettuce. I've been craving nuts and avos and for two days now I've eaten those almost exclusivly!! Any ideas? Is this okay? Should I keep listening to my cravings and eat all the nuts and avos or should I force myself to eat something else? Is this an emotional craving or physical? I'm concerned, especially about my new distastes. One thing... this all started after I fell in love with the Lydia's organics raw bars. I wrote about them, saying how great they were. Seems like a stretch, that eating them would create a huge hunger yet turn me off to everything but avos and nuts, but maybe? (I stopped eating the bars 4 days ago.)
Any ideas would be great!

Oh yeah, it's quite common to go through periods like this. Your body may very well need the fat for some reason. The big question is, how do you feel after eating the nuts and avos? Do you feel good or do you feel poorly? If it's something your body is needing right now, then nine times outta ten you will feel good when eating the foods. Are you getting any fruit or veg in at all?

I've had similar phases and they don't last long. I'll crave a lot of fatty food and then one day I'll not want them anymore and will start craving something else...maybe fruit or smoothies or salads.

After I eat the avo and nuts I feel sluggish, not nearly as good as I did eating a wide variety of fruits and vegies. Last night I ate a pear, one of my very favorite things, and it tasted "off", almost bitter and harsh. It's so strange! I'm really hungry this morning and all I want is the cashews soaking on the counter. I know they will make me feel not so hot, but everything thing else sounds bad. Weird!

When I just REALLY need a big meal I cut A very large round slice from the middle of a watermelon 2 inches thick!
Then cut around the inside and put it on a plate.
BIG 'OL watermelon steak is what I call it. PATENT PENDING!!!!

I will always think of something different to try. It helps get out of the same old stuff. MANGOES !!! there in season go get one!

Fats are not carbs and you can really get sluggish on them. need those simple fruit carbs for energy.

Thanks! I got some watermelon and some Sharalyn... I ate 1/2 of the Sharalyn! Really enjoyed it too! I look forward to dinner... a honeydew to myself! :o I think this is just a phase and I will work through it. The melons are nice... I can eat a whole lot of them and get that full feeling w/o making myself sick! Loved the watermelon steak!!!:D

Liked mentioned before, jsut go with it. I have the same sort of spells. It's best to eat what your body is asking for otherwise you will jsut keep craving stuff and it will drive you NUTS!
