It might be good to do a meditation on cooked food...you know, take a big plate of hot spaghetti or a piece of pie or a package of really delicious cookies or something (or maybe your favorite cooked food), and set it in front of you, and just meditate on it

Let all your feelings about it flow out..why you love it, what you love about it (the way it looks, the texture, the flavor, some connection with comfort) and then really think about what it is..what it's made out of, the history behind this plate of food..what happens after you eat it and it's moving through your body..

boda... I think that's a great exercise -- only I'll do it mentally! lol!! I don't want to waste the money or the time preparing the food and then just throwing it out! :D But mentally - YEP ABSOLUTLEY -- this exercise is really great!

THANKS for suggesting it - and I will definitely do this with several food AND DRINK (ALCOHOL) items... like my previous favorite - lemon drop martinis!!

you RAWK GIRL!! thanks for sharing!

If you live with regular cooked food eaters you can just rummage through their cabinets/fridge for something to meditate on

I was inspired by a package of fudge drop cookies on the counter :D

Um, while SMELLING it? This is a recipe for disaster!

LOL

You are right of course. I'm playin.

I thought of this once. When I was struggling. To actually buy like a (vegan) burrito and put it in the fridge. To remind myself that it's not that I *can't* have it, but that it's 100% MY CHOICE to eat better. That way, you retain your power instead of giving it to cooked food addictions. Is this kind of similar?

I have been "inspired" by cookies many times in my life. My hips are still inspired by them, long after the fact.

LOL!

I'm totally not teasing you, I am just being a goon. And, unfortunately, self-revealing. LOL!

oOoOoH! Great idea.

When it comes to cooked food, I try to ignore them instead of confront them!

Maybe confronting what draws me into a certain cooked food item (such as the memories/feelings I associate with it) might help me to be able to be around it - like at parties or during holidays- without caving in!

Who could do this? I would have a face full of sauce and a clean plate! I do not even try to visualize cooked food. When the thought of a cooked craving enters my head its outta here!
