Why do I crave this?
Is it the fats?
I am increasing my green smoothies but in the meantime any good recipes that would replace this craving?

Or are you making sure that you do get some sort of healthy fat in your diet?
Avocados are my choice. Yum.

The craving for SAD foods doesn't always indicate your body "needs" something...sometimes it's just what it is...a craving. Often times it's been said that cravings come up as your body releases old stuff through the cleansing process.

You could make Alissa's recipe for bagels, and I'm pretty sure there's a raw cream cheese recipe floating around somewhere....

That is what I was going to say. Make some bagels and cream cheese (raw of course) and see if it gets rid of that craving.
Creamy Nut Cheese
cashews
water
salt to tasteBlend or process until smooth.
___________________________
Cashews soak up a lot of water so don't worry if it gets too wet, it will thicken. Refrigeration will also cause it to thicken.
Lemon or lime juice can be added to make it more interesting.
Variations
Add one or more of the following:
any chopped or blended fruit
minced onions and chives
honey and chopped nuts
your favorite herbWill keep in the refrigerator a couple of days, or in the freezer until used.
enjoy,

Yep that movie changed my wife’s life and mine forever.
The wife would some times cheat and eat some meat. Now she just gave away ANY thing that had dairy and eggs that was in our fridge.
I gave ALL my fishing gear away this weekend (400 bucks!!!!!) and will be selling my fishing and diving kayak for just a recreational one.
I will never buy honey or pollen again after there gone.
Had a pair of leather work boots---GONE!

Just type Earthlings in google
and the first link is where you can watch it on your PC
not as good quality as renting it but that may be a good thing.
It is HARD to watch

You can go to www.youtube.com
and type in EARTHLINGS.
It will appear in 3 parts.
It should be mandatory viewing, imho.

The cravings could be because of the adictive substances in milk and wheat. There is a lot of info about this on the web.
Zombie-food
Wheat and dairy products contain opioid peptides influencing endorphin receptors in the brain. These peptides are physically addictive.

lydias,
Sometimes we just want something familliar, a taste, texture, or smell. That is why Alissa has this site here and a book with hundreds of recipes replicating familliar foods like bagels and cream cheese. Where did you eat these? Maybe you miss the place, the people.
feel good,
teri

This is off topic, but I kind of know what you all are talking about, but I would like to know what does SAD stand for? Please forgive me, I'm new.
