This is my 16th day 100% raw and I am wondering if being COLD when everybody else is not is a normal side effect of eating raw. The temp here is usually in the 90's and if not for my family I would probably not turn the air conditioning on at all. If the air conditioning is set at 78 to 80 degrees, I have to wear socks and shoes and a sweater or I feel really, really cold. Going to a refrigerated restaurant is almost painful. Is this something others are experiencing?

A little bit yes. I have been turning my ac up to 79-80 during the day because otherwise it's too chilly in the house for me. (Mind you we live in florida where it has been insanely hot & humid) I've heard it normals out though, so haven't been overly concerned. And I usually take a sweater with me when I go out just in case.

I freeze everyday at work. They have it set on 70 degrees, and I have to wear a sweater while at my desk. I've tried changing it to about 72, but they always change it back.

Yep, I think that's a normal feeling when one goes raw. I think too, it's a part of detoxing. I know I felt that way in the beginning. Now I don't get quite as chilled as I used to.

garden granny- I feel for you. At 70 degrees I would be completely numb.

Veganforlife- Detox? I am surprised by that. I was more thinking that it is so much easier to digest raw food that our bodies just didn't warm up quite so much in the process.

I dunno. I'm just guessing. I know I experienced feeling cold early on going 100% raw...

I was extemely cold when I started my raw journey, although I have comfortably warmed up since. I think it may be due to a number of things - detox and the fact that our bodies are getting lighter/less dense. At any rate, I am not complaining - I am actually loving the summer heat for the first time in years. ~ Cathy

I don't think it is detox... I have been raw for almost a year and a half and
I am still cold. In fact, the office manager gave me a heater to put under my desk. I get so cold I can't focus.

Also, I'm 46. Before I went raw I got the worse night sweats (menopausal I believe)... since I've been raw, I have not got a hot flash. Neat eh?

I get hot flashes...granted it is probably 111 outside right now..but when I am inside with the AC and I have to lay on the bed because i can't cool off and my friend is perfectly comfortable I'd say it was a symptom of detox

i'm quite comfortably cool now, though :)

I get the feeling sometimes. I have had chills associated with fever during a couple detox periods, and once in a while my feet are FROZEN!

I think it's more "normal" when raw. if You body isn't trying to fight the toxins from cooked foods the white blood cell count isn't as high so eh, i can't explain it how I want to. Not as much is going on inside ya know?

I'm always cold unless it's around 80 degrees or more. I started noticing it around the time I became vegan, which was when I started losing weight pretty quickly. So I just attributed it to having less fat, but that's interesting that other people experienced it too when they went raw!

I've been cold my whole life. Kind of ridiculous living in Florida, esp when it's over 90 degrees.
