Hi there,
I REALLY want to try this recipe, but I haven't got any coconut oil!

Is there anything else that I could use instead?
:)
Do you have any macadamia nut oil?
I haven't got any nut oils.
I didn't know you could get coconut oil - bit new to this raw life! :-)
Guess I will have to have a search of the shops.

Hey...
Not to bum rush your post... But I have never ever tried a SAD cheesecake before? What does it even resemble in the taste department? Or the raw version per say?
:D
I haven't tried that particular recipe, but there is a coconut fudge on gone raw that is ridiculously good, which requires coconut butter. That actually resembles real fudge. It's amazing!
I got my coconut oil jar (I think 16 oz., looked like a pb or almond butter jar size and shape) for about $10 at my local hfs. I got coconut butter from Alissa's store (she has the oil too, but I found it so much cheaper locally). Funny thing is... oil comes at the top of the butter jar, and butter comes at the bottom of the oil jar! It's just different parts of the coconut meat, so it makes sense, but it's just interesting.
They're both really good to have on hand for desserts.
Davy - I will let you know if I manage to make the recipe lol
Eva - Thank you for the tips. I will venture to the hfs soon.
I've just made these fudge bars from goneraw (as I couldn't make the cheesecake). And must say they are delicious!

Hi Arty - I'm from the UK and quite new to this raw thing as well. You can buy coconut oil in jars from Holland & Barrett or from a good health food store. It makes great desserts - I have a recipe I posted on another thread for Coconut Oil Fudge and is as follows (it's sooooo good!):
Coconut Oil Fudge
1 1/2 cups coconut oil
1 1/2 cups honey
1 cup raw cacao powder (I substituted cocoa powder before I bought raw cacao)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, tastes fine without it)
Dump it all in the blender and mix till smooth. Pour it into a pan (I use a 9x13 glass pan) and let it set in the refrigerator. Cut into small pieces and try not to eat it all the first day! Best kept in the the fridge.
It's super rich so a little goes a long way, but is very very good! I also add a chunk to my green smoothies to sweeten it up. Plus coconut oil has alot of health benefits - just google it to find out more. :)

davy - I think it is made from creme cheese, but it doesn't taste cheesey. Very sweet, soft texture.
Hi Bampot - Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It's not something you normally see in the shops, will try H&B
Wow! That's recipe sounds SOOOO good! Will definately give it a try soon :-)
Got some coconut oil and the first recipe I have made is that fudge.
Bampot - Please don't give me any more recipes like that!!!!*
