I treated myself last week for a girl trip out of town and ordered breakfasts from Chef Cynthia Beavers of Pure Raw Cafe. http://www.purerawcafe.com

This is some of the best raw fresh food I've ever eaten! Scrumptious! All I did was round out the week with greens and veggies in salad and my nutrition was very balanced. The portions are generous and the taste is really a treat for a sweetooth like me. The pancakes were AMAZING!! I have never been that into food...until that moment. Me want Cynthia's raw pancakes! The cream tart with berries wasn't too sweet and really hit the spot to fill the morning belly.

Was it a splurge? It was. Would I do it again? You bet, and I plan to order both breakfasts and dinners come August for another trip. It saved me time (precious!) and was healthy and deelish. It kept me fed for a week! When you look at this way...it wasn't a splurge at all.

If you are feeling like giving yourself a super special Bday gift...one of her desserts would be great.

I enjoy Rawvolution as well...I just have to be careful because he uses Noma Shoyu, (gluten) quite often so I pick and choose at his wife's place when I'm in L.A. :)

I usually make all my own food and enjoy it but this Pure Raw To Go was a vacation from food prep and I was a happy happy girl all week...awesome taste!

Pure Raw Cafe.

Aspasraw? Thank you for this info but I'm confused. I've been trying to contact her because I'm going to Dallas in a month and want to get her food to keep eating raw while I'm there for a family reunion.

Is her restaurant still open? or is she only mail order now?

Can you clarify this for me! With your review I'm even more determined to check out her food.

Thanks!
Martha

Most soy sauce has gluten in it. I know of one kind that doesn't, but it's not raw.

They deliver! I've been thinking of trying it out. Has anyone else ordered the delivery service? The menu looks amazing!

The food does look really great, but the shipping to us is so ridiculous I've never ordered ($67). The total was going to be over $200. Rawvolution is the only affordable & tasty one that delivers. Rawlifeline was another, but they no longer ship.

Hi!
Just saw this post sorry!

The restaurant in Dallas in gone..in fact the building was torn down. She only has a "raw to go" business at this time and it is in OK City now, not Texas. It was great and lasted all week but it is very costly shipping so check first before ordering or you'll faint. haha!

Rawvolution has a location on each coast so they can ship cheaper. There is a difference in taste/style though. Cynthia's is more sweet and textury and Matt's is more savoury and crispy. So your mood may decide....His book is amazing!

Yup...wheat. I am celiac/MS so I avoid it. Makes me feel icky and my legs stop working. I don't presure myself to be 100%...My body is happiest at 90% and I use Tamari gluten free once in a blue moon...not in quite awhile...

I also avoid green powders (barley and wheatgrass) and oats (sometimes gluten cross contaminated...and I have had bad luck with this).

Many people can eat wheatgrass and barley grass etc...I cannot...envy those who can.
