1) For those of you still telling people to 'google it'. Can you stop, please? Please! I cannot find this old thread i posted about this about a month or two ago but PLEASE just stop telling people this. This is what a forum board IS!!!!
If they want to google it, they wouldnÂ’t be here asking questions. ItÂ’s really annoying to see this within a thread, especially one that is asking valid questions to get feedback on issues. If you have a problem with a person or their questions just donÂ’t answer it, but DO NOT TELL ANYONE to google it! Really, you have no idea how exasperating this is to read on a post when someone is here trying to get answers. They KNOW they can google it if they are on a computer.

2) Ok, since im on a tier, let me remind you all that this is not a place to advertise your products. You can put your website or information in your signature but it is not appropriate to be marketing your stuff on my site. (unless you want to throw me a couple of hundred bucks a months, otherwise im the only one who gets to yak up my products, ;) )
This board was not set up for that so please be mindful of this. I know its hard not to mention what you do or give that some energy when your writing here but you have no idea how it sounds when your sneaking that in. it doesn’t do you any good, i get emails all the time from people saying 'wow, i cant believe you let people use your board for free advertising of their raw food stuff'. So really, its much more effective if you just put it in your tag line and use the board for what it is supposed to be used for. Ive been pretty lenient about this but its getting a bit out of hand, ive already erased a bunch of post this morning alone and no other site puts up with half of this. You don’t have to hide what you do but I think people know already and believe me, a lot more people are turned off to the blatant advertising then the few people who are ok with it. There is someone on here that runs raw retreats, works with raw people, teaches and you would never know it except for her tag line. Sure, every once in a while she mentions something about ‘when I work with someone…’ but she does not say ‘when im working with a raw food client in my CA home where we give retreats….’ You get the point. I don’t have a problem with people knowing what she does. It’s in her tag line under her name every time she post so im sure a ton of people have gone to her site from here. But it is irritating to try to read post and get information only to see the same person telling people over and over what they do and ‘sneaking it in’. Ok, I think that about spells that out.

3) Also.... (whooo must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, ok guys, bear with me, im almost done ranting :o ... ) If you have a problem with someone here, ignore them. Basic kindergarten stuff here. I know there will be disagreements and some hot tempers and different personalities clashing at times, and although it can make the board interesting at times, this is not a place to 'fight' with each other or throw digs at each other. Lets be mindful that others are watching, people who are new to raw foods that this kind of behavior may give a very bad impression of what type of vibe this diet creates. I know we get into our own little world here with some of the same people everyday but there are also new people on here searching for answers to this diet and seeking motivation to stay on it. Having long time raw fooders show compassion with each other speaks volumes about this way of life.
-----------------------------------------
Lets keep this board in the spirit it started. Helpful, loving, peaceful, motivating and accepting. Or as someone on one of the other boards says, 'sappy sweet'. I know they didnÂ’t mean it this way but i took that as a compliment.
I want this to be a place where people can come and feel accepted, not log off and feel theyÂ’ve been beaten over the head. We all get enough of that in our daily life.

Thanks guys,
Alissa

I am bumping this up. This is an older post (about 2 years ago or so) and some of you may remember it. Now the "Googling" part may not apply as that was a common catch phrase 'round here some time back ;)

But the other portions - the advertising and the fighting are starting to become issues once again. So, read Alissa's post regarding this and take heed. We don't want to start getting ban-happy but if need be, we will start getting rid of folks who don't want to keep this place the way it used to be and was intended to be!
