Those of you who are successuful with green smoothies,
do you start with it first thing in the morning??
I am trying to do good again so I had my blue green algae and lemon water first
then cantelope
then green smoothie
well something spiked my blood sugar and I got starving and pigged out on bagel already, I am also in tons of pain, so eating numbs the pain somehow
its so hard to get going again
whats worked for you all??
I know it took me about 3 weeks to get cravings under control with green smoothies
Maybe I need to start with that in the morning?!

Yes. My GS is the first thing I consume in the morning. Give it time.

Hi Lydia, I start every morning with a green smoothie. It's about 5 cups of greens, fruit, water/ice. That lasts me all morning. You said your in a lot of pain?? Physical ? I'm sorry to hear that.

I always have the most fat in my morning smoothie (almonds or sunflower seeds and a table spoon of virgin cocanut oil).
then greens and some fruits, frozen berries, and a whole banana, and bee polen and honey (poor bees but I just love the stuff).
that will keep me and my wife good till lunch at 12 30 and prolly till dinner I never have to snak any more and I am still 240 pounds.

I don't have the blood sugar issue, but I have a green smoothie every morning and it makes me feel great. cravings will occur at first especially if you are still eating SAD.

okay, thanks!
I will have to switch to having gs first thing!
I have chronic fatigue but from an accident I have tmj and constant eye pain. The pain is excruciating sometimes and I eat more to soothe the pain. Of course that doesn't work!! I also cannot loose weight since the accident no matter what i do= more pain.
I was doing so great almost like 40 days raw , then I tried a fast and went downhill...
But up I will go- hope the green smoothies work fast!

That is interesting you eat more to ease the pain. When my daughter worked in a nursing home she observed many of the patients NOT eating and when she questioned she was told that when one doesn't eat that eases the pain. I'm not suggesting you not eat, but you may be eating the wrong things or too much and it (eating) is doing just the opposite. I can't remember what she said your body does when you don't eat, but it releases something that helps ease pain - that's why a lot of elderly folks do not eat. At any rate I am sorry that you are in pain, that is not fun. I would be GS's will help you and becoming 100% raw would definitely help. Good luck w/this!

i just water fasted for 7 days and it did nothing for the pain, not to discourage anyone, that was my experience
even while raw it doesn't help but hopfully eventually it will
my adrenals are exhausted and I cant handle or deal with any stress...
i think its my blood sugar cause when I get hungry.... I am like a mad woman, I dont even know who I am or what I just ate or why....AFterwards, its like why did I do this
I know green smoothies got me there before and now I have to just let it happen again! I just want it instant.

Oh man! I know. We all want instant, but GS's work pretty darn fast. Our bodies are forgiving. Meanwhile - start up on your GS intake and read. Read Victoria Boutenko's book, "Green for Life". I know keep one's mind occupied and busy with positive influences is also healing. Her book is amazing.
Listen to Revvells interview with her. That was amazing listening to her speak. You can find the link here:

I don't know if it has been recommended yet or not, but flaxseeds are excellent for stabilizing blood sugar.
If you don't have one already, go to Walmart and buy a cheap coffee grinder (mine was only $10) and freshly grind a good tbsp of flax seeds to add to your smoothie.
I add flaxseeds, spirulina, maca, and hemp seeds to my smoothie and it can keep me going all day without any blood sugar issues.
Don't give up hope.... we will work with you and get you to where you want to be! Put on the fuzzy bunny slippers and sit here on the garden swing with us and we'll get through this together :)
Peace to you!

I like green smoothies for breakfast and dinner though

hey!
I've had 2 green smoothies today so far even though the whole day started rotten. Had flaxseed and dulse in it too.
small start but better :)
I cant wait to start right tomorrow morning, I can't believe fruit spikes my blood sugar so bad. Maybe not everyday but on stressful days...
