I am new to RAW, I have been only since June 23rd.

In one week I will be leaving on a road trip, we will be driving, 2 days each way. To a convention, while at the convention I will be working from 9am to 7pm 5 days in a row. Then driving home again. I will not have access to a refrigerator, although I will have a small cooler with me.

My DH is not RAW, we will be eating most of our meals in restaurants. While I know I can do salads, I expect that after a couple days I will be tired of them! Especially when driving, as the only choices will be from mostly fast food places. I know my DH will want to go to someplace like Bob Evans or Denny's for breakfast every day.

What I need are suggestions (and recipes) as to what I can make ahead of time to bring with me. I know I can usually do fruit for breakfast, but I need something that I can bring with me to the convention. Something easy to snack on in between customers that won't spoil. I also need suggestions as to what to order at the restaurants in the evening. I am usually FAMISHED by the end of the day, and know that this is going to be a real struggle. We usually go to awesome (not Raw) restaurants at this convention. And I am sure my DH will want to go to them again.

I do have Alissa's book, and see a few things that might work. But I have no experience as to how they will keep, unrefrigerated.

Thanks
Jenny P

Do you have a dehydrator? If so, I suggest making a batch of crakers and/ or fruit leathers before hand.
and pack that in the cooler and beef up your restaurant salads and spread on your crackers.

Why not invest in a handheld travel blender, they are like 20-30$ at Target, and then you can make smoothies for breakfast and/or blended soups.

Make Alissa's Fudge Balls or an equivalent munchie and pack those in the cooler.

Bring avocadoes to beef up your restaurant salads.

Make a raw salad dressing and keep in the cooler.

buy fruits and veggies to snack on from local health food or grocery stores where you are stay.

- Im about to go on a road trip to, so my mind is on this subject :) good luck

like 50 of them

then maybe celery, carrots, some nut butter, honey..flax seed crackers, broccoli, um...blueberries and raspberries and nectarines and bananas and coconuts

i'm pretty much just naming all my favorite foods
but none of them need to be refrigerated =)

also nuts, seeds, kombucha, cacao, um....peaches
grapes
cherries
berries

onions, if you like em
i used to just take bites out of them back when i was hardcore ;)

you can bring salad greens and snack on them i'd say they would stay good at least for a day,

peas
beans
apricots and avocados

i think thats all the food i know right now

you can bring goji berries
and pine nuts
