Alot of people are asking each other "How do you eat so much and not gain/lose?!" and I think for lifestyle comparison sake, this quiz should be interesting:
1. How tall are you? (Important)
1 1/2. How old are you?
2. How much planned exercise do you do? (Times per week, duration)
3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week)
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day?
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats?
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats?
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
7. Have you always naturally been your current size?
My answers:
1. How tall are you? (Important) I'm 5'1 -2
2. How much planned exercise do you do? (Times per week, duration)
About 20 minutes uphill hiking, 3-4 times per week.
3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week) About 2 hours per week TOPS of shopping, Disneyland etc.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? 1200
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
I'd say naturally decreased OVERALL, but I had a couple years battle with ED right before raw, so increased.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? Yes, I do :) I don't count the % most of the time, but some days %50 I'm sure.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? About the same.
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? -
7. Have you always naturally been your current size?
No, I was 30 lbs. heavier pre- ED, but I gained 10-15 of those back with raw.

aside from lifting boxes and kayaks at work...and the occasional swim or walk with my boyfriend...i just drink beer.

same as above....
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day?
i usually eat between 400-800 calories a day...plus 600+ for beer.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
decreased....
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats?
yeah!!
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats?
lost..before i weighed 125..now im somewhere between 115-120
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
7. Have you always naturally been your current size?
ive always been a bit small...

My answers:
1. How tall are you? (Important)
5'9

Jogging, 3-4 times/week, 6-13 miles each time
3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week)
Hmm...probably 30-60 minutes per day? Stuff like walking the dogs, yardwork, grocery shopping (hey, those carts full of fruits and veggies get heavy!)
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day?
Varies sooo much, anywhere from 500-2500
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
On average, about the same, though it varies a lot more than it used to.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats?
Not currently. I did the first 10-ish days raw, but cut them out about 5 days ago.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats?
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
I gained a lot of weight eating fats. When I cut them out, I'm starting to lose again :D
7. Have you always naturally been your current size?
No no no. I've been underweight, overweight, and everywhere in between.

i run 6 miles 3 times per week

I go to work by bike everyday (at least 1 hour of bike ride)

probably 2000
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
decreased
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats?
yes... I am trying to change that
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats?
I have lost 45 pounds at the beginning but my weight loss has stopped
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
7. Have you always naturally been your current size?
No, I was larger before raw

3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week) I walk to work, 1.3 km each way, and I ride my bike to church, 9 km, and may or may not get a ride back.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? I have no clue.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? No idea.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? Yes. Mostly avos and olives.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? I've lost 21 kg and am stable at 60.
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? No. I've been bigger, I've been smaller - smaller was after 5 months of treatment for candida.

4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? I don't count calories anymore. I found myself simply unable to eat too many calories when eating raw. I eat whenever I am hungry and eat until I am satisfied.

6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? Not a lot, but I don't restrict them either.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? I have lost weight, but not necessarily because I eat fats
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? You betcha
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? Nope. I have always naturally been a big old fat pig. Not anymore.

5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? Decreased.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? No, 10-20%

If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? Lost mostly inches and a little weight.

I think that it might be good to add age in here too. It is often said that age affects metabolism.

2. How much planned exercise do you do? (Times per week, duration) 4x a week I lift weights for 45-60 minutes
3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week) Probably 1 hr a day.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? I don't count but I guesstimate 1,200-1,500
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? Decreased. I too drink beer once in awhile. Maybe once or twice a week.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats?
No. Maybe 30% tops.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? Hard to tell
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? Hard to tell
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? I have ranged from 125-155 in my lifetime. I am currently at 142.

I practice hot Vinyasa Yoga every other day...Pilates a couple times a week.

I walk constantly....with my boyfriend especially in our free time. I'm also a waitress/bartender so Im running around on my feet a lot.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day?
probably around 1000, give or take...Im trying to increase this though!
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
stayed about the same, before claiming "raw" my diet still consisted of mostly fruits and veggies
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats?
In moderation
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? I think I lose with high fat..so Im trying to work out a balance right now.
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
7. Have you always naturally been your current size?
Yes; I was always 100 lbs, then I went up to 105 while on birth control pills (water weight?), then back to 100 when I stopped taking them. Recently I lost 5 lbs because I've been practicing yoga everyday, so I am working on gaining what I lost while still maintaining raw and ITS DIFFICULT TO DO. I have a hard time gaining weight.

1.5. I'm 28 (didnt see this before)
2. How much planned exercise do you do? (Times per week, duration) 6x per week for 30 minutes to an hour of running, hiking and weights Yoga is an hour and a half
3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week) I cant measure, I am pretty active regardless. I walk during my lunch breaks, to and from public transit. I walk more on the weekends.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? I have no idea.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? I eat more FOOD while raw, but not sure about the calorie intake.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? I wouldnt say a lot, but I dont limit them. I dont pig out on them either.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? Lost
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? NO! Normally I am overweight, but never obese

2. How much planned exercise do you do? none to once a week of 15 minute cardio and 30 minute light weight training. plan to get into yoga within the next monthish after i settle out in colorado
3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? little
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? i dont know. probably 1200ish, but it varies daily..sometimes lower, often higher
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? increased
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? only a tablespoon of coconut oil/day. sometimes olive oil on salads, but not usually.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? i lose when increasing fats
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? i stay un-boney on low-fat/higher sugar
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? no. ive lost 50 lbs on my raw journey.

Wow I admire all of you who exercise that much.
I used to be hard-core, jogging AND dance class etc, but at the time I was eating SAD, and I was 30 lbs heavier. Now, with little exercise on raw I'm a smaller size...Essentially I can kinda get away with not moving off of my bootayy.
Bad habit, must stop!

I used to be hard-core, jogging AND dance class etc, but at the time I was eating SAD, and I was 30 lbs heavier. Now, with little exercise on raw I'm a smaller size...Essentially I can kinda get away with not moving off of my bootayy.
Bad habit, must stop!
im not only the smallest ive ever been, but the most toned ive ever been since super reducing my exercise

When I first went raw, I didnt work out for 2 weeks because of the detox symptoms (dizziness, headaches). My butt and thighs started to feel like Jello even though I was losing weight. I was losing muscle tone! I got moving as soon as I could.

3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week) My pedometer says on the average about 3k steps a day. Sometimes I get so much energy though, I've been known to boost it to over 20k.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? 800, about
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? decreased. Filler foods (aka, SAD) cost more in calories & fat. When you eat properly, you dont need as much. (after the honeymoon)
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? naahh If I do, I only want about a handfull of nuts. its rare but I can eat an avocado, maybe once a month. It's no biggie

If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat?
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? NO!!! My body even bloomed a new SHAPE. before, no matter how much I lost, I still kept that annoying shape. I'm long & lean now. A lean green machine!!

3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week): Depends if I'm busy or not ... Sometimes only a half hour sometimes 2+ hours of walking.
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? I'm not sure, I'm sure I'm not getting enough though as I eat simply.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating?
My calorie consumption has stayed the same or decreased a little. But my appetite is way up (I suffered an ED and after recovering was never really hungry while eating SAD food). I want to eat all day, but eat mainly fruits and veggies so my calories stay low.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? Sometimes. If I have a day where I crave SAD I will eat nuts ... I want to try some dessert recipes in the near future.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? I'm not sure, I don't do it enough to tell I guess.
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? Stayed the same.
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? No, I recently recovered from a short bout with an ED (my friends and family knocked some sense into me) and gained back the 13 pounds I lost plus more. Now I look bloated :-O

4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? Anywhere from 500-2000, depending on nuts and fats
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? decreased. I used to pig out on nasty SAD stuff
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? I wouldn't say a LOT, but I like an avocado every other day or so, and I love nuts, but keep the portions medium

3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week) im on my feet for about 4 hours nonstop at work 5 days a week, hmm not a whole lot else at the moment
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? varies greatly, anywhere from 500 ish to 15,1600. i try to average around 1000 though.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? hmm hard to say . when i was sad i swayed from restricting myself to like a few hundred a day to binging on like 2500 or 3000 a day. definitely binged ALOT so i guess it has gone down bc i dont really binge at all anymore.
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? i have coconut oil pretty much every day. i have avocados 3-4 times a week. sometimes i have all fruits and veggies and almost no fat. i try to limit my nuts/seeds to once or twice a week.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? coconut oil has helped me to lose a little more quickly, it also keeps me full
If not:the more salads and fruits i eat the faster i lose but i tend to eat too many fruits soometimes and get bloated then constipated
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? no, before my first year of college i was like 110-112 then i got up to 131 by the time i came home for the summer from binge eating all the time at school. i would eat huge amounts at every meal just bc it was all u could eat. i remember, many days of the week i would have 3 desserts at one meal! i bought cookies and candybars all the time. ugh it was horrible. i almost broke down and went to the therapist at school but i was too afraid to admit to someone else that i had an actual problem. when i came home, i began to over restrict and almost starve myself and now im trying to lose weight the right way and heal my body. i felt like crap, got stretch marks, cellulite, etc. now im at 125 and would like to get back to my old weight.

4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? lately, too many. maybe 1,600-1,800. I want to get back down to 1,200-1,400.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? INCREASED!!!
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? yes and I've put on about 8 lbs because of it! :(
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats?
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? yes I've gained with the fats and no I haven't lost yet from eating low-fat :-(
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? absolutely not. I have to work hard every single day just to maintain my weight after losing so much and now I'm starting to gain some back so it's very frustrating. if i have ONE day of "binging" it seems to mess me up for weeks at a time.

3. How much UNPLANNED exercise do you do? (Walking to work, Job-related activity etc: Duration, X's per week): walking to work 40 min. 5 x per week
4. How many calories (estimate) do you eat per day? Anywhere between 1200 and 1500 per day.
5. Has your calorie consumption increased/decreased with raw eating? It's probably remained comparable to when I was eating healthy SAD.....greatly decreased from the bingin' days....
6. Do you eat alot of raw fats? I've been raw now for a little over a month, so in the beginning, I ate fats with abandon.....and payed the price! Now, I'm cutting back.
If yes: have you gained or lost with fats? Gained gained gained!
If no: have you gained or lost with low-fat? I'm slowly losing with a lower fat regimen, but I'm still eating avos, a little olive oil, and coconut oil.
7. Have you always naturally been your current size? No, this is close to the largest I have ever been.....I had major issues with body image, so I always thought I was larger than I actually was.....
