I have seen various references to Green Lemonade. But when doing a search could not find a recipe. Can anyone enlighten me?

Green lemonade is lemon juice and the juice of greens (I use kale) apple juice is also added to cut the bitter taste. There's a recipe for it in Natalie Rose's Raw food Detox Diet book found in the health section.

It's a juice of greens with the help of an apple. Basically the "lemon" is a small lemon added when you have a bitter green like kale or argula. It helps take the bite off those bitter greens. Very good and healthy.
You can experiement with amounts and various greens. It's all about what you like.
I use
1 head of romaine
1 big handful of baby spinach
2-3 apples
2-3 lemons

I found that adding a cucumber in my green lemonaide has a very cooling affect on you! Especially on Hot days I add: 1 cucumber, bunch of Kale, 1 lemon, 1-2 apples and enjoy! I could drink it by the bucketfull!!! Sometimes I substitute the cucumber for celery! YUMMY!

So, JennyPat- Hi, are you clear that you can actually juice the whole lemon, peel and all? It makes for an incredible zingy drink! I wouldn't recommend unless you can access organic lemons though. Green lemonade is a staple in my diet; I'm drinking it nine out of ten days a week. I clean houses for a living and if it wasn't for green lemonade, I seriously wouldn't have the energy to do it and that's saying a lot. I drink it for breakfast. '
I'd also consider the strength of your juicer concerning juicing a whole lemon. I'm wondering if anyone can comment if one of those spinning basket jobs like LaLanne's can handle lemon with peel. I use my trusty Champion but I do take the time to cup it up into eighths.
When I'm done juicing a variety of greens, about five apples, the lemon of course, maybe cucumber, maybe celery, I transfer the juice into a Vita-mix blender and whiz it up with ice.
Then I fib when immature people ask me about the green beverage is I'm drinking, you know the type who say, "oooh gross" to anything healthy, and I look them in the eye and tell them it's a Key Lime Slushie from 7-11!!

I make these as green smoothies. Just use lemon as the main fruit.

Thanks! I dug my champion out of the basement a few days ago. Although I have only used it once since then. I will have to try this, but it will have to wait until my next trip to town. I only have 3 lemons left! And I like to squeeze a 1/4 into my water a couple times a day.
