I am trying to incorporate more greens with less fruits in my smoothies. I have Vicoria's book, and like some of her savory smoothies.
I would love to know what some of you guys add to your green smoothies or juices when you don't use fruit.
Spices? Other veggies?
Does anyone have a savory green smoothie recipe that they looove?
Thanks all!
Have a green one-:D

Check out Valerie's blog. She tends to do more non-sweet. Me? I prefer the sweet.

Hi anabbytree....I drink a lot of green smoothies and though I put one fruit in each time...it's often an apple, kinda balances out the green...
Mild green smoothies for me are celery and today I used oranges...a bit of lemon juice, paprika and some water...
...other mild ones I use cucumber, celery and spinach and an apple...seasonings vary...I like paprika so I use that a lot, sometimes cumin...
I also use spinach and any kind of lettuce...
What I call my heavier in taste are when I use kale, collard greens, watercress...(didn't like watercress too much but will try it again)....
Lemon seems to add a nice taste....I do like the taste of greens so I don't really put too many fruits in as I think it masks the taste of the greens...
I don't think I've ever made a green smoothie I didn't like though.
...and Veganforlife gave a good suggestion in checking out Valerie's site...I follow it daily and she's quite an inspiration...
Good luck on your journey...Elaine

i don't add stevia to a savory smoothie.
if i wanted a sweet one, sure... but not too much cause of the aftertaste...
