as my experience with a water fast in gaining all the weight back I was wondering if if a juice fast is better for keeping weight off or do you gain it back as soon as you eat again? And how long would it be good to do it for?

Hello Lydias,
If you want to lose fast and keep it off,go with The Master Cleanser. Also known as The Lemonade Diet. It's radical, but completely safe, and extremely effective. The mimimun length for the fast is 10 days, and as many as 40 depending on your need for detoxification and weight loss. There is a 50 page booklet all about it and how to do it.It is extremely important to follow the instructions exactly for optimum results. The weight loss is rapid and it's not water weight. If you have celulite,it will reduce it significantly or elimintate it altogether.Of course, you must continue on a raw food diet to maiintain the weight loss.I got my book from amazon.com for 3 dollars. You can order it from the site as well.www.themastercleanser.com Good Luck.

Not an expert here, but I have been researching fasting like a maniac.

I was reading that water fasting can actually cause you to regain weight b/c when you fast on water your body goes into starvation mode/survival state and your metabolism actually slows down trying to hold onto all the calories it can get. So when you reintroduce food, your body packs it on as fat.

Juice fasting on the other hand causes you to loose weight in the long term your metabolism does not slow as you are still getting all the nutrients and calories you need.

Makes sense to me ;)

I did a 3-day juice fast 2 weeks ago. I lost 8 pounds and have not gained any of the weight back since transitioning back to solid food, but also stopped losing weight.

When people do the MC cleanse for 10 days how many lbs do they typically drop?

To Trinity-

wow your weight loss is sooo great!!
Do you exercise alot?
I am trying to work on that!
I have about 25 lbs to loose and it will not come off. If I do I gain it right back. Lots of water retension and bloating.

Looks like your loosing good! So from my experience I wouldn't mess it up with a fast. I know the fast helps health problems and everyone is different. But I am reading too much about how it slow metabolism down.

100 percent raw -lower fat raw (NOT FAT FREE) and a little time and you will lose

YOU WILL but you just have to want to stay 100 lowfat raw and you could lose close to 10 pounds a month without exercise.

I have done the MC twice and for each 10 day stint I did - I lost 10 pounds - basically a pound a day. I am on my second one right now. The first time I went back to eating raw and I only gained 2 pounds back once I began eating. But the two pounds were gone again over a few weeks time as I continued to eat raw and exercise so I count the MC a success.

i second this one :o

ive done the master cleanse, a water fast, and a 2 week green juice fast. gained all the weight back when i finished. but its probably individual as everything is. now if i fast its about internal and mental/emotional rebuilding. i think thats what fasts work best for anyway.

The only way you'd gain all the weight back is if you foolishly return to your normal eating habits. Look at juice fasting as a transition into a healthier lifestyle of eating more fruits and vegetables. Then you won't gain back the weight. You may gain back a bit of water weight but the majority of it will stay off.

i am not a fasting expert-
but i usually do a 3 day juice fast to jump start my return to the raw diet after falling off the wagon.
it serves 2 purposes for me....
it cuts the craving/cheating cycle
i lose weight right off the bat.
by going straight to a raw food diet after the fast... i do not regain, and am totally psyched to stick with it all over again.

When I juice fast I lose about 1 lb a day and then when I go back to eating raw I maintain the loss some how.
