I'm just getting started on the raw and living foods. I'm looking into getting a dehydrator. Any suggestions on a relatively inexpensive one that is still of decent quality? Not too familiar with the brands out there.

Thanks!

I love my excalibur. The fan is at the back and blows across all of the trays for a more even dehydration instead of blowing from the bottom up. I also like the fact that the trays are square with no hole in the middle and they slide in and out like drawers.

Alissa is Coming out with a BRAND NEW STATE OF THE ART.....Dehydrator....I don't know when but I know she posted a Thread or post about it. I would try to postpone getting one, save my money and wait for hers. Check out "Threads" on Oven Dehydrating for now. Use the "SEARCH" at the Top of this page.

I agree. Knowing Alissa this is gonna be way cool and very "user friendly". I'd wait if I were you. And honestly? I used mine way more in the winter then I am in the summer. Too much fresh produce out there right now not to take advantage of!

Hi there Dreamt Illlusions and welcome. After doing some research, recently I decided to go ahead and get the Snackmaster Express Food Dehydrator for $44.88 at www.walmart.com. I ordered it on a Monday and it got here on a Thursday. When Alissa's comes out, I want to get hers, but since she said it could be a few more months I wanted to go ahead and get one and start making some things. For one thing we have tomatoes in our garden and I plan on dehydrating the extra ones for the winter, as I don't want to waste any. I'm glad I got it because it is helping me eat more raw foods during my beginning stages of eating more enzyme rich food. This one has a whole in the middle, so that's kind of inconvenient, as I can't make like a totally round pizza crust or anything, but all in all it is serving me well. When Alissa's comes out, I plan to get hers and either use the one I have now as a back-up or donate it to Goodwill. We will see what happens at the time. I hope this helps. Have a fantastic day!

Blessings and peace,

Marcia
