I would love to know what those on here who have lost a lot of weight over a long period of time (and kept it off) generally eat on a daily basis.
I'm not talking about someone who's lost X pounds in two weeks or a month, I'm talking people who have lost weight over a long term, say 40 pounds or more.
Thanks!

Oh, okay. I start my day out with my super green smoothie. Consisting of mixed greens (blended) equalling 2 cups liquid, 1 heaping tablespoon each of spirulina, Alissa's green food powder, and maca, and fruits of my choice fresh or frozen.
Later, say around 10 or 11 I'll have more fruit, like a grapefruit or plums, cherries, whatever.
Then for lunch I'll have maybe veggies and dip, or something I've prepared, like raw couscous, mock salmon, whatever.
Then for dinner I'll prepare something else, like lately it's been corn off the cob and fresh tomatoes and maybe olives or a salad. Sometimes for dinner I'll have a fruit smoothie. In the winter months I ate heavier, like more avocados, more dehydrated foods, etc.
Hope this helps?

The green smoothies really have cut back my cravings and I was a chocolate junkie - pre-raw and once becoming raw. Now, IF I have some chocolate it might be every couple months or so. That's why I push these so much. They are truly filling and provide what your body needs. It prevents one from eating just because. I love them. Valerie Winters has been living on them since March and has had tremendous weightloss. I have gone many a day on just my smoothie and water of course until about 6 p.m. and then realized - whoa I haven't eaten anything else. It's amazing. Food is not what my life is about - it's health and healing.
I forgot. I snack on sea veggies too periodically throughout the day for my thyroid.

My blog link in my signature has a daily record of what I have eaten every day since 4/3/07 in case that helps any.

Here's what I had today:
First I had a smoothie, around 700 grams, of two bananas, 1/6 pineapple, and some passionfruit and strawberries. Then I went to the store because I was out of some fruits.
I came back and made a huge salad, maybe 1.1 kg, with two avocados, some Alaria, lettuce, green onion, mature onion, olives, tomatoes, carrot, and other stuff. I went to work and ate it over the next several hours, along with two oranges and several figs. Normally my salads aren't quite that big, but I knew I would have a long day at work.
I just came home and I have some more Alaria soaking. The nori should be here in a few days and then I can make some nori rolls.

Thanks Pierre! That salad sounds and that smoothie sounds amazing. Can you tell me what you had for the rest of the day, or was that about it?
This is great to get some sense of the ways in which people who are losing weight on raw are doing it, so all responses greatly appreciated.

Well I have lost 128 lbs doing this. I love the green smoothies. I have two quarts of them a day. One when I wake up and the other is my last meal. I drink Lemon aid by the quart too. Made from fresh lemons. It is the highest Alkaline you can have. It helps you to lose the weight you have. You see when people eat acid foods like meat dairy and other things your body Stores the Acid food into fat Cells to protect you. Or you would Die from it. So now you know how people are getting so fat. I was 550 at one time and then had a stomache staple done. I got down to 300 lbs and then started gaining it back. Well last year I was 451 lbs on may 24 th and now I am down to 323 lbs. I have wonderful salads with Avacodo in them and I eat fruits for some of my meals. The Green smooties take out all the cravings for any acid foods. I really like them alot. I put in different greens in there all the time too. That way my body really gets what it needs. Well Last year I was borderline Diabetic too. But After Changing my eating I beat that and now have a normal blood sugar. It goes to show you. If you give your body what it needs it will fix any health problem you have. Many People have even beat Cancer this way too. I have talked to some of them. Well I hope this helps you. By next year I plan to be down to 180 lbs The best part I know this will happen as I am going to keep eating this way for ever. I feel good now and I am starting to have my life back. Been walking alot bowling and more will come too. So Buy the green for life book and the other one I really think you would like is The PH Miricle for Weightloss By Dr Young. Douglas In Calif.....:D :) :D

That was it! Today I had much the same, but the salad was smaller, and I ate a mango whose seed rattled in its pit.

No, it's been a long time since I've acted in anything, except a skit at church, and I haven't done historical reenactment. Why?
You can check out my website. It lists my daily food intake for the last 9 months. Currently I have lost 80 pounds. Look under the detailed infomation tab and it lists my food. Of course in the beginning I ate more than what I do now, but I also exercise.

What do I eat? Good question!
I love smoothies. I am a smoothie junky! I love mostly fruit smoothies which I must admit.. is being naughty.. I think a smoothie should be a healthy balance of fruit and veggie.. but I don't own a juicer so I'm not about to eat chunks of veggies in a smoothie.. Blah lol. All I have is a blender.
I am known to completely skip meals and have a smoothie in stead. They say most of the time when we are bored, tired or think we are hungry.. we should drink instead of eat.. so I try to do this most of the time.
I am a calorie counter. Someday I might find my happy balance and not have to but I fear gaining the weight back. I can easily gain 15+lbs in a 3 week period if I let my self.. Not good!

thanks Morn, Trinity and eatyourbroccoli for your info, and everyone else for your posts.
I'm finding this most enlightening! Hopefully it will also be lightening!
Trinity, about how many cals do you eat since you count, if you don't mind me askin? I totally agree with you about thirst vs hunger. We're so in the habit of eating for many cues, the least of which is probably actual hunger.
And Douglas congrats on those three more! Probably by the time you read this there'll be a couple more after that.
