I've only just started but I am sooo excited. For those of you who don't know about Bikram Yoga or the BY 30 day challenge a little bit of background. Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 poses (each repeated twice) perform in a room heated to roughly 110 degrees. It is by far and away the most strenuous and through workout I've ever engaged in as well as being tremendously detoxifying. 90 minutes of sweating, deep breathing, and reversed blood flow would milk the toxic baggage out of anyone!

The BY 30 day challenge is 30 classes in 30 days. Most people who have survived this claim it is completely life transforming. Not only does it unearth a new body hiding under years of bad living, it frees up mental and emotional space.

So why am I doing it? I've been raw for the last month (after a year and a half but I fell off for about four months) and practicing Bikram faithfully for five months. I want it. It's that simple. I don't know what's at the end of those 30 days, but I want it. I know there are some Bikram practicioners here and I thought I might collect some 30 day challenge stories and share my own experiences in the journey....

I'm 5'10 and 150. (I've dropped to 148 since then) I'll happily post before and afters in 27 days baby!

That's quite a challenge. Best of luck and I can only imagine how you will feel by the end. The heat of Bikram is too tough for me to get at home. I try to keep up on an ashtanga practice which is very demanding but is so goooood. I can't imagine 30 straight days of Bikram or ashtanga for that matter.

You lost half your body weight??? Wow! Congrats!! I wish I had time to do a challenge. I love bikram. You're motivated me to definately go today. :D I will be curious what results you get. I got out of the swing of going all the time when I started raw...so I wonder what my body would be like eating raw and being consistant with my bikram! Rockin, I bet!

I practice Bikram but I only attend about 4 days a week with my work schedule.

I would love to do a 30 day challenge though. Best of luck.

Thanks for all the well wishes! So far it's going amazing. The daily practice is really opening me up in poses that I used to find terrifying. I'm so blessed to have the time to do this for myself....

I like Bikram so much I'm thinking of moving to where I can regularly practice at a studio. It's an hour and fifteen minutes away now. Thumbs up on Bikram yoga. I walk out of there feeling tipsy!

This sounds very exciting. I've never done Bikram but there are a few places around here. Maybe this will help me detox faster than I was doing the last time I went raw? We'll have to see. :)
