Hi all,

Anyone have a food processor recommendation for ice creams?
[ frozen bananas, etc. ] I also like to add the nuts in, oil, etc.

( although not sure of the best order - half the time the stuff doesnt
catch the blades ]

I bought a black and decker, on general advice here, but it really takes a beating , and almost flies off the cupboard trying to do it. :(

I should also mention I dont like the chute - blasts stuff to the cupboard.
 Enclosed would be much preferred.

Of should I only use a blender instead?

thanks

Cut up the bananas a bit before putting them in (and before freezing them)... add SLOWLY (a few "chips" at a time) and call me in the morning. :P

ive got the black and dector to.... and your right about it flying off the cubboard LOL!!!
just hold it in place while your processing...

mine always come out just fine...
even tho it does take a good beating .... holding it in place does the trick! dont worry... it's not gonna break! :p

Thanks guys. Actually after about 1 week of use it seems very strained.
I'm almost certain it will spring a leak in the bottom soon. Maybe I'll just
return it :cool:

But what to buy then? something without the chute.

I've heard the Black and Decker is best, but I bought my food processor before I stumbled on that bit of information.

I have a Cuisinart and I LOVE IT! It is easy to clean; I simply rinse or toss it in the dishwasher. The attachments are great. The design is clean. And it takes a lot to exhaust the motor...I've subjected the poor thing to some serious abuse, and it still works fantastically.

I'm not aware of any drawbacks, but I understand some don't favor the Cuisinart...someone else would have to tell you about that, though, as I won't speak a negative word about mine ;)

I use the champion juicer with the blank plate to make ice cream, it comes out perfect every time, but I do know this can be a big expense.

I have an 11 cup cuisinart, that I dearly love, it is enclosed, also a big expense, although they do have some smaller ones that are enclosed, and about $80 or so dollars.

Try discountjuicers.com

that is where I bought my champion for about $200.

However, you can try Kmart, Walmart for some awsome, prices.
