I have ordered Alissa's book, but it won't arrive for a few days and I'm really eager to get a head start understanding this "Raw thing." Honestly, it's something I would normally scoff at (sorry!) :o but I am on such a path of sorry eating habits that I know I need to do something and it actually does make sense (but I love meat!) Can someone please post a link to a sort of "primer" to the philosophy behind this sort of lifestyle? Also, any links to inspirational testimonials would be great. I'm sure this is covered throughout this site, but I wasn't sure where to start on a search.

TIA!

I began raw food without a clue as well. True, you must just go to the store, stock up your fridge with fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds, and go from there. If you have to start simple by eating an apricot, then a banana, then some broccoli, just do it! You'll begin to feel better the day you start. I'm on Day 27 - 100%. I'm a very poor college student and when I started. I didn't have anything except a fridge and a cutting board. I broke down and bought a blender a couple days later, but had no cookbooks so I just improv'd. Then I somehow acquired a juicer, which really added to my variety. Then I finally bought Alissa's book a couple days ago and now a whole new world has opened up to me! Funny thing is, as soon as you start to go raw, the universe will begin working for you, and things will start to come as you need them and everything will work out for you fabulously! Just start eating raw, keep researching online and reading books, go to health food stores and ask questions, learn as much as possible, listen to your body, and you'll be sailing in no time!

Enjoy being RAW! It's REALLY amazing...
