melon balls!

I had some chopped melon last week, but I really wanted melon balls. I went out and bought and melon baller and I love it! When the melon is "balled" it has a smoother mouth feel, it really did make a difference. If you don't have a melon baller, go get one for this summer!:)

Oh, I agree. That's a fun tool. I had bought one years ago. It makes a nice presentation for a mixed fruit salad. It works for other things too, like the raw cookies, fudge balls, etc.

I just got one a few weeks ago and my balls end up as 1/2 circles mostly. I guess there just isn't enough cantelope or honeydew to make a full circle? Still fun anyhow!

Ama - you have to really dig it hard into the fruit and "turn" it. Mine has a hole in it so the juice kinda squirts out the hole. I really dig it in far and turn. Hard to explain...:confused:

I love my melon baller also!! mine has two ends with a different size at each end.

Ama, you can get whole spheres, you just sort of have to go "over" first then under if that helps try to explain it. You'll get the hang of it.

I do that, I just end up with rind on some of it. Hmm... now that I'm thinking about it I should probably be using the smaller end (it's 2-sided and I've always used the bigger side)
