Hello everyone.
I hope this is an okay place to post this.
I saw something on TV that I found really interesting so I filmed it off my TV (haven't mastered the proper was to get it from tv to pc yet)
It is about a scientist who says he lives on just liquids. What I found interesting was the critisism he received rather than any form of interest in what he was doing. It kind of reminds me of people saying that raw is bad and you cannot possibly survive this way......
(Its in two parts coz my friend came into the room calling me...d'oh!!)
*just a warning....it does flicker a bit

Interesting that, at the beginning, they mention "liquids" ~ juices, coffee and tea and at the end it's "water and sunshine". Never do ask exactly what he's drinking... thinking they've not read the book... Never ask how long he's been doing this...
I'd like to see how his teeth are doing as well.
*shrugs*
Not enough info.

In my view, it is entirely possible to live on liquids exclusively. Even the food we eat is in a heavy liquid form when as it passes through the system. The body itself is 70% water. So it's certainly conceivable. I think the main concern would be that of getting sufficient protein, vit B12 and fiber. Milk and nut milks should take care of the protein. Even veg juices - an incomplete protein - may suffice according to natural hygiene schools of thought. (The amino acid pool is said to produce the remaining 8 aminos that F & V's don't provide.) And pulpy juice seems fiberous enough for me. (??) Anyway, I believe that prolonged liquid diets have been done in terms of months and even years, with no noted harm, and actually great benefit to the system.

If he's drinking wheatgrass juice (fresh) he'll get PLENTY of protein :)
I know the dr.'s for me said I SHOULD consume mostly if not entirely blended or juiced food due to my digestion and absorbtion problems.

Thank you so much for posting that, Little Mango! :)
I normally quite like Richard and Judy, but they really were being incredibly harsh on this man. Having said that, Richard was correct in saying he was being vague when he was asked to explain how he did it. It would have been very interesting to hear what he actually consumed, but they never asked that... Not exactly top-notch journalism... :(

I guess it would be a good idea for someone dieting like that to get one of those dental devices that you basically chew on to keep the bone density strong in the jaw, huh?

Richard and Judy annoy me a lot now. In a minute I just saw that they are about to tell the viewing public the dangers of fruits and veg and are about to trash superfoods!!!
Funny how they have two obese chefs cooking slabs of meat and saying, mmmmm, yummy! I will be trying this one!!! Sometimes I just cant be bothered!!
*sigh* (a big one!!)
