I think Alissa posted this recipe somewhere; it's kind of the first prepared raw meal i've ever made (something other than a salad :-p)

These things are even more delicious than an amazing ice cream sandwich, and they taste just like it (but better!)

You will need:

bananas (i used them while they're still yellow, i don't like too ripe)
carob
water
nuts (optional but recommended)
nut butter of your choice (i used peanut butter, almond/cashwer butter would be good too!)
popsicle sticks/plastic spoons/utensils

mix up your water and carob mixture until thick/creamy consistency (i used maybe a little less than 1 cup of water and 3 or 4 tablespoons of carob when i made them last night, but i had a lot of extra. you can freeze extra mixture and unthaw for later use)

pour the mixture into a tall cup that you will use to dip the bananas into

chop nuts in food processor (i used pine nuts, also you can use almonds, cashews, walnuts etc. whatever you like!) and add to carob mixture

cut your bananas in half through the middle (width wise, not length wise) and stick a popsicle stick or the handle of a plastic utensil (preferably spoon) up through the banana, and coat banana with your nut butter. then dip into the carob mixture and lay on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. do this for all over your bananas and then go back and double-dip them to ensure maximum deliciousness

set in freezer until frozen

note: about an hour in, the peanut butter will be very creamy and the banana and carob mixture just frozen enough to make it taste really, really good :-p

sounds great, is there raw PB? I guess I can double dip since it would just be me.;)

The peanut butter I used was not raw...if you ordered wild jungle peanuts and made your own then it would be raw!

i have such hard affection for peanut butter...i really do need to order some jungle peanuts

you can use any raw butter you like, though, or not at all (though i really recommend it!)

FYI... the jungle peanuts don't taste like the peanuts your used to. All peanuts you've eaten have been cooked (they actually aren't even nuts, they are legumes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut)). Anyhow... I'd pass on the jungle peanuts, personally - I still have a full bag that I haven't used - I much prefer cashews, macadamias or any other nut. The jungle peanuts don't taste very good. Not something that you'd want to just snack on... ick

Really? I've had them before and I thought they were amazing! They definitely don't taste like regular peanuts..but I think they're really good :)

Yeah, I think they are pretty tasty too. They DO taste like a sweet bean. I haven't eaten many since going raw. My grand kids like 'em too.

ok...I'm dense...this recipe never made sense to me. Do you put the chopped nuts in the carob/water mixture? Seems like 1 cup per 3-4Tablespoons of carob would be WATERY?? OR do you coat your banana in butter, dip in water/carob mixture...and then ROLL in chopped nuts?? Sorry, just trying to understand, because these always sounded soooo delicious, but I never tried them, because I didn't quite understand the process.....
Thanks.

Yeah you don't want to use that much water...I've made them a few more times and It's better to use a lot less water so that it makes it a bit like a paste so it'll coat the banana. When I made them last night, I used too much water and so it basically turned out to be just banana and peanut butter with little spots of carob..

I'd say maybe try a half of cup of water depending on how many you are making and going from there . You can always add more water and carob to even it out

sorry about the confusion :) i was really confused at first too...i didn't get why it said to use so much water
