Hi I am taking anti-fungal herbals for candida/parasites and am not supposed to eat any fruits, agave, honey etc. for 3 months.
I am on my 2nd week and feel as if I am detoxing way too fast. I am very nauseous and last week I felt as though I could faint when standing. I was at my wits end so I ate a few cooked rice cakes and felt better.
I don't want to eat any more cooked food
I don't want to eat any fruits/sweeteners
I have no appetite and can't keep much down
I am very sick of salads
Any ideas on what to eat??

Oh sorry you're not feeling so well.
Do you have Alissa's book. She had candida...and all her recipes and all her information on 100% raw eating cured her.

good news is that nausea's deifinitely detox. i did 6 weeks 0 sugar for candida, 2 of those weeks being a green juice fast. if you have a juicer, id slip into a green juice fast..it was just easier for me than forcing down salads (which, normally, i LOVE) every. single. day. are you letting yourself have veggie-fruits..like tomatoes? i did a lot of veggies dipping in tahini. that candida diet raw sucks (it did for me, anyhow..i love berries and OJ). unless you do a lot of gourmet recipes that are nut-laden...which i couldnt do since i dont digest nuts and am super intolerant to almonds. you could do veggies in almond butter, too. or the raw salmon patties. or the carrot burgers. or veggie rolls. or probably a raw pizza. i dunno how gourmet you wanna get though. i did simple raw for 4 weeks no sugar and..it just wasnt fun. but it did the job.
are you sure youll need to go 3 months since youre doing the anti-candida diet raw? also, pick up some raw extra virgin coconut oil..do up to 3 or 4 tablespoons of this stuff a day (since youre not doin smoothies just .. eat it. it really isnt that bad so long as you get the oil and not the cream). that stuff does WONDERS. so did bio-k vegan version probiotics. i swear by em.
3 months ago i failed the candida spit test completely..like..it just..all sank..(ew) within 3 seconds. last week..after 3 minutes, i had ALMOST passed it.
look into colonics, too, if interested. i had a series of 5..and those in combo with greeeeens, coconut oil, and the bio-k probiotics have gotten me so back on track that when i ate cooked grains for the first time in MONTHS last week (..oops..), my digestion just continued on as though i had still been eating raw. thats huge for me.
ps
some people cure candida by just going raw. others by doing all fruit, no fat. im not advocating any one way..just letting you know what i ended up doing.

Hi Gwendolene,
There are literally TONS of non-sweet, savory-type recipes in this recipe section alone...just search for whatever it is you desire be it wraps, breads, pate's, dips, etc. and if you have any recipe books at home, then make whatever does not call for fruit or sweeteners. Seems like the only recipes you would be avoiding are the dessert recipes and if a savory recipe DOES call for a tsp/TBS. or so of sweetener, just omit it.
But I guess the thing I'm kinda confused about is, you are asking for recipes but you stated that you are having a hard time keeping food down and don't have much of an appetite...if that's the case then this is not the time for recipes this is the time to either eat simply or fast. I understand that you feel or do not believe you can do any fruit at this time so I guess fruit juicing is out but you can do vegetable juices or "blended salads" (savory green smoothies using veggies instead of fruit). Your body *may* be trying to tell you something...that it needs a break from digestion so it can heal so don't force-feed yourself and especially not recipes that you may or may not like.

Hi Gwendolene,
So weird...the EXACT same thing happened me about a week or so ago. I was doing the same thing as you for candida and taking a lot of anti-fungals. I was nauseated, couldn't eat anything and almost fainted when I stood up.
I think I had a big yeast die off which happens when you are on the anti-candida diet and are taking anti-fungals. That is probably what you had too as those are some of the symptoms of a yeast die off.
I did the same thing you did - I ate some cooked food and I felt better.
I had a hard time finding things to eat too. I really am not a big green smoothie fan at all so that was hard for me. I decided to add some fruit into my diet but keep it at a minimum.
I don't think there is a definately time period to be on the diet. It varies according to the individual on how long it takes to get rid of it. It depends on what your symptoms are and if you feel better or not. You could be on it for 3 months and not have it really have been necessary to do it for that long.
I am planning on doing a Colonix colon cleanse which is supposed to be excellent at cleaning out the candida. I haven't started it yet.
Which anti-fungals were you taking? I was drinking alot of Pau D Arco tea and lots of Coconut oil and probiotics. Once you start feeling really sick (like you were) you are supposed to stop the anti-fungals for a while. Keep taking the Probiotics though -those are important. I stopped taking mine because I couldn't keep anything down for a few days. I threw everything up. The only thing I could eat was melon for a few days.
Sorry I am not much help with recipes for the diet - I kinda failed that part when my yeast die off kicked it. Gabriels Cousens Rainbow Phase diet tells you what to eat in the Phases for candida. You can start adding some fruits after a while. If you are interested I can post a copy.
For me, I was basically eating alot of salads and cacao/coconut shakes and green smoothies with the tea in it. Stevia or yacon syrup are exceptable sweeteners on this diet. Some people say that berries like cranberries are exceptable too.
Oh another thing too - I started taking a iron supplement and that helped with the faintness when standing up - it went away within hours. I think I pushed myself into being anemic for a bit on that diet. I have always been borderline.

I have Candida pretty severely and am on the anti-fungal medication Sporanox and also taking Garden of life's "fungal defense". I'm also starting Grapefruit seed extract and oil of oregano capsules.
I don't see anything wrong with eating certain fruits that arent high in sugar like: apples, berries and cherries.
you shouldnt have a problem with those. its more about the fat in your diet. also ive heard coconut oil does wonders... i have yet to try adding that yet but i will. id stay away from nuts and nut butters for awhile and see if that helps. for some reason i also noticed my candida gets worse whenever i have chocolate or dried fruits.

Don't torture yourself by giving up fruit for 3 months! Other than limiting dried fruits such as dates, you should be able to eat whatever you want as long as it's raw. I had severe candida for years & none of the candida diets worked because they were way too hard to follow & I've always been really good at eating healthy. Just stick with raw & a good probiotic formula and you should be able to get rid of it. Agave should be okay as a sweetner, but not the other ones like honey & any syrups.
And no meds! That's just going to cause other problems.

I did very low sugar for a month, and it strengthened my digestion very much!!! Stick with it :)
I wasn't equipped in my location to make gourmet stuff anymore, so my reipes were simple! I ate zucchini pasta with marinara or peso sauce. That's really yummy. Also nori rolls. Seaweed salad. Sauerkraut salad (try mixing: sauerkraut, avocado, coconut oil, sea salt together). Warm blended soups (lots! broccoli soup, cauliflower, random veggie soups) those really helped fill me up and were comforting. Also if you can eating a lot of raw garlic will help. It's powerful. I ate like 9 cloves during one parasite cleanse..woooah watch out. You can also add some very lightly steamed veggies when you're at that point that you cant eat another salad.
oh and my favorite treats - (i am a dessert girl, i don't care if i'm on low sugar!) - goji/cacao/coconut oil mashed up and frozen in little squares. Or, vanilla bean pudding (avo, vanilla bean, coconut oil, yacon or stevia).. i would eat rasperries with that but it's optional :)
if i were to do it again, I would get colonics as part of it. I let detox slow me down and into eating more fruit. but i think it's very cleansing to give up fruit for a while. good luck to you!

Just a suggestion for a non-fruit/agave/honey sweetner:
I have a recipe for a jicama sweetner.
Grate the jimica; dehydrate and blend into a powder. I haven't tried it yet, but the recipe book says you can use this as a sweetner instead of agave or honey. The only time in might not work is where you need a chewy texture. This might give you some more recipe options.

I'm also struggling with candida. I just can't get rid of chronic yeast infections and I've been 100% raw for a few months. I just love fruit, green smoothies, and the raw desserts. I love eating fruit in the summer too! I've been trying to figure out what to do and started the body ecology diet 2 days ago but I really just want to eat raw. I know you can do a raw body ecology diet but I don't think I can do that- it's way too restrictive.
eatyourbroccoli- what kind of green juice fast did you do? do you have any recipes? I'm thinking that I might try that, but a little worried how I may feel trying to keep up with 2 very active little boys.
Gwendolene- It looks like we are in similar positions. If you want to work together and figure out meals that are sugar/fruit free and help each other, then please email me. stasher_99@yahoo.com

What are colonix? Is this something I do at home, or pay someone for a service?? Thanks....still healing from candida myself.
I started on a candida cleanse, and have been watching my fruit intake, but not staying away from my lovely fruits altogether. Maybe I should be alittle stricter, just for a few weeks....this info is VERY encouraging....I think I can cut out the sweet fruits for a few weeks...but just not MONTHS!!

I started a green juice fast yesterday and I'm feeling a bit weak today. I felt great yesterday and had tons of energy. I felt better than when I did a greens smoothie fast...weird. But today I feel week and little bit light headed. I hope this passes soon because I have 2 little kids to look after today.
My green juice from yesterday was:
1 head kale
2 limes
1 cucumber
9 stalks celery
1 inch piece of ginger
stevia
water
I sipped that for most of the day until dinner time and then I made another green juice:
9 stalks chard
2 lemons
1 cucumber
1 inch ginger
1/2 bunch parsley
stevia
water
I had a little bit of that last night and now I'm drinking that right now.
I also had a few cups of Pau d' Arco tea with stevia and a few TB of coconut oil. Hopefully I can continue this for a least a week.
Wish me luck!!
tvillemom- Colonix is a procedure done at an office and it usually lasts about 45 minutes. They insert a very thin tube up your colon and they gently flush it out with water. I've never had it done but I've had friends who have. I probably should get it done while I'm on this fast but I can't get up the nerve to do it yet. I know I should though!

EATYOURBROCCOLI, what is the spit test you referred to? I am sure that my son has a Candida Yeast Infection and would like to have the doctor test for it. Not sure how she tests for it but I am guessing the spit test is something he can do at home.?. Thanks,
Andy

The one fruit you CAN have, remember, is the acai (berry? fruit?) I think it's spelled right...

Hi Wendi,
Colonix is a home colon cleansing program. A few people on the boards have started it recently - it is supposed to clean candida out of your system.

If so, does it work and do the job of creditably sweetening things?
I'd love to give this a try, but jicama is quite expensive so hopefully someone has tried this already and can comment on it.
Cheers! :)
