My blender has rust on the bottom

Like a dummy I have been running my blender thru the dishwasher and now the bottom metal part under the cup is rusting and I have been scrubbing it off but it rerusts and is so nasty! I quit putting it in the dishwasher. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the rust and prevent future rust. Any ideas?

so is that why the instructions say not to put it in the dishwasher? i thought it was so the heat wouldnt mealt it... huh. i guess ill start handwashing it. But sorry, I dont know how to help. Maybee scrub it with some baking soda.

Actually I read the instructions a couple of days ago and it says it is dishwasher safe - I might try the baking soda..

You may be able to call the manufacturer to see if they have a stainless steel replacement part. The piece you have is metal or it wouldn't rust. There is an old saying "Rust never sleeps."
