View Full Version : How much young coconut...

I've never used young coconut. How much do I use in a smoothie and do I use the water? What else can I use them in? Thanks.
I use 2 cups of liquid in my smoothies so I add all of the coconut water and if it's not quite 2 cups then I add enough purified water to make 2 cups. I add the whole inside of a young coconut. If there is a lot of meat your smoothie may come out quite thick but I like it like that, especially if I add cacao and some raspberries... mmm...
There are puddings that use young coconut and some make noodles from it or wraps. If you use the banana search on the top of the page I'm sure you'll find lots of great recipes!

I love making young coconuts smoothies. I use the water and "meat". Then I blend (I don't have a high-tec blender so need to do it in steps). Then add your fav fruit. Today I added an ataulfo mango, 2 frozen bananas, and a lil honey. Note sometimes the "meat" is very thick. In that case I only use say half of that. You can make all kinds of things. Check the recipe section on the board. Coconut cream pie is tasty too! :)
