Wouldn't play for me either. The recipe is on the site; also one for corn chips and salsa.

Oh, sorry. It takes a few minutes to upload. Well, there was a real catchy tune at the end of it. And she's like 58 and looks gorgeous.
Sorry you felt that way about it Kate. I thought it was cute.

How cute, I love her energy.
I think I will need to buy her books, and DVD, I like her fun and playful style.
I also, sing and play in the kitchen, one of my most infamous moments, was when I was mixing up some cashew cheese and red pepper and spices to make a wonderful cheesy dip, I was using my bamix, hand held blender, and then my Dog came up to me to say,"HI",
so I turned around and played with him with the bamix like it was a ray gun or some such thing, and of course, I turned it on, and the cashew cheesy mixture went flying, My dog liked it, it was all over him, and I laughed so hard, I was on the floor.
Dragggon came in, saw what was going on, and started licking the cashew cheese off my face, my hands, my arms, we were all three of us on the floor rolling around, and licking each other.
Anyway, as I was saying before I went off to remember land, I like to play in the kitchen.
Alissa's video is like that too, she has that gorgeous smile on and you can just tell she loves what she's doing.

Well, I finally got her vid to run ~ just sat with it and it did. Some things don't compute agewise (not a factor in whether I'll get her vid or not though). The pages say she is 59, she's going to celebrate her 47th Anniversary and got married at 16. Hmmm, just read it again. She was born in '42. O.k, that explains it. She was 59 when she wrote the first booklet. Got it now ~ for the rest who may have been confused. She's about 63 now and looks mahvelous!

Wow, she does look fabulous for her age!
I couldn't believe how old she is!
How long has she been RAWing it?
Thanks Sharon for turning me on to this site. I enjoyed her video clip. Have you purchased any of her books or videos yet? I tried the "shake your banana" recipe and it was good and very filling. Wasn't sure what vanilla powder was but did add all the rest of the ingredients. She does look fabulous and I loved all the greens around her in the video clip. Thanks for sharing.

Um.
not to be mean, but...ah never mind.
Why do people say, "Not to be mean", and then be mean?
Just curious.

Probably the same reason they say: "I don't mean to interrupt...." then they do. Have you ever said ~ "Then don't?" *giggles*

Tina - no I haven't purchased any of her videos. Says it takes 6-8 weeks for delivery, I think. I would love to get them, just to hear her singing along with the recipe.
Autumn & Revell - Not to join in, but ROFL

I don't think Kate *was* being mean, I also thought it was a little corny. And when it was over, I was like, how the heck do we make it?!! lol! It really gave me a giggle though, I seriously couldnt figure out if it was a joke or not. Of course I saw the recipe at the end but I wasnt sure why she didnt show us how to make it in the video. Anyway, I just had to say that I saw what Kate saw and I dont think she deserved to be criticised. We all see things in different ways, no biggie. That lady looks absolutely marvelous, I hope I look half that good at her age!

I don't have the recipe at hand, but if you go to the lady's page, she has a section of recipes and the Shake Your Banana recipe is there.

I'm thinking she didn't show how she makes it in the video "clip" was because she wants people to purchase the video. She DID give the recipe after AND has it on her site. Sheesh folks!
... and not to be mean.... and, I don't mean to interrupt... :p

I guess everyone has their own definition of mean. I was just stating my opinion that I thought it was corny. I didn't expect a free recipe I just didnt get the video, sorry.

Glad stated that the recipe was at the end of the video clip. My first post indicated that I am unable to download the recipe for whatever reason. I will search the other sections of her site for it.
<<Anyway, I just had to say that I saw what Kate saw and I dont think she deserved to be criticised.>>
That is fine, and you are entitled to your opinion. But posting to the person who took the time to share it that it was dumb, *is* mean. I am entitled to my opinion as well.

Here's the recipe:
Shake Your Banana
3 large frozen bananas
1 cup distilled water
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon non alcoholic vanilla flavor
1 tablespoon vanilla powder
enough ice cubes to thicken mixture
Peel and freeze slightly overripe bananas in plastic storage bag. Blend
water, honey, and vanilla flavors in blender; gradually add banana pieces
and ice cubes, checking thickness.

Autumn, I see your point and I am sorry to have offended you, it just seemed, like Wow, you jumped on Kate when what I *thought* Kate was saying is that it was just silly. I am glad that I did not post my original reaction to the video before any one else did because I was rolling in the floor giggling watching it and I was going to post how funny I thought it was. I am sorry, it struck me in a very funny corny way. I guess I just felt bad for Kate bc I thought she probably meant it that way, maybe I was wrong. I guess my point is that I really honestly thought it was a funny thing that Sharon in Colorado posted for a giggle. Sorry to muddle up the board with this kind of stuff, I just felt like I needed to explain myself better. ~~~Not jumping in to defend anyone again~~~

I thought it was good for a laugh with the (yes, corny) singing and such. Heck that song was reeling around my brain forever after the clip ended. But dumb? Maybe that is what I may have thought at a younger age. Things are dumb if they aren't cool? What do I know, I'm just an old foggy anyway!
Too bad you couldn't see it Autumn. You would have had that song stuck in your head, too.
The masses must be heard. Please see the poll, and YOU decide.

Well normally I don't think anyone would of jumped on
Kate for her comment, BUT from what I gather- I see a pattern of
abruptness from several different posts that Kate has posted recently.
She probably doesn't do it intentionally, but I think some of them
(I thought to myself) were harsh and abrupt at times.
If she didn't like the clip, she didn't have to say anything, esp.
not knowing the intent of why it was posted. Just proper "etiquette"
to others feelings is all, although everyone is entitled to there own opinion
of course...we try to be polite on these boards is all.
just MHO....
Peace

Hares, no problem. I think corny and silly are fine. I am often corny and silly. I just didn't like the *dumb*.
Sharon,
Thank you ever so much for typing it out. I couldn't get anything to load on that site for some reason. I appreciate it very much!! :D
Someone's singing Lordddddddddddd, Kumbayaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Autumn

Punky,
Yes, that is exactly how I feel. That is the problem. A pattern. Not a first time thing, nor a second or third time thing.

......
I thought it was dumb because there was no point.
And I'm finished reading this thread, so please direct future criticisms to me via PMs instead of getting the whole board up in arms.

Thank you for the right words..proper etiquette.
As we get older and wiser, we understand.
Kate, though you may not be reading this, you must understand you cannot say anything you want and not have repercussions. This is not criticism, it's just the way it is.
