I went outside this afternoon and the thermometer said it was 116 degrees! I had to spend a little bit of time out there... does this mean I am cooked? I sure feel like it! LOLOL:D I live in AZ, and I love it here, but, DANG, summertime is just:eek: !
I ate a whole watermelon today all by myself (not all at once). It sure tasted good in this heat.

I can sooooo relate! Try being in it carrying around an extra 200+lbs!
Did you know that when you put watermelon in the fridge it loses most (I think I read 70-80%!) of it's nutrition?!?!?!?:(
I have two words for you...COLD SHOWERS!!!

Anastazia, I didn't know that about the watermelon, but mine never even made it into the fridge. I picked it out of the garden and snacked on it all through the day.
RawVegan Mom- You actually laid out in this heat? Are ya crazy!!??? LOL I lay out sometimes, but I thought it would be pushing it today. I guess we're supposed to get a break in the heatwave, but I will believe it when I see it (feel it)! Stay cool!

That is 46+2/3 if I converted it right. The limit is somewhere between 47 and 48, so no you're not cooked ;) Anyway, as long as you drink enough water to stay around 37, you're fine.
It has hit 58 in the Sahara, and there are people who live there (though lately some Tuaregs have decided to stop nomaditating and settle down somewhere).
Hottest it's gotten here since I've been watching is 38. But a humid 37 in North Carolina is worse than a dry 37 in Minas Gerais.

Wow, I definitely won't be moving to the Sahara! I've about hit my limit as it is :) . I agree with you on the humidity issue, I like my heat dry.
I think the watermelon helped me stay hydrated and happy today. I didn't even feel like eating anything else.

I guess we aren't getting a break in the heat, I just watched the news and they say extreme heat again today:( . Snow is just a sweet memory at this point.

I'm jealous of you people in the hot weather! I'm a hot weather person!
And when it's hot out, there's nothing more I enjoy than eating luscious, juicy fruits!

Got to 100 here but I love it. I miss the southwest, so i have to soak up all the sun I can in the measly 3 months I'm able to get it here. LOL!
Anastazia, where did you hear that Watermelon loses its nutrients in the fridge? :( I'm not at the point where I can eat a whole watermelon in 1 day.

Maybe I should plan a safari. I could probably take the heat after conditioning myself by living in AZ all my life!
We finally got a little bit of cloud cover late this afternoon, whew!
I'm sure I probably haven't mentioned this before now, but we are living in a great big army tent while we build our house, so the heat is hard to get away from. We did finally put an evap cooler in here and boy does it help!!!:D

Well if you go fill you bathtub with ice cubes, get in, and stick an avocado in your mouth, we will let you stay. But no more cooked flesh. This forum is strictly VEGAN!!!

I do not have a problem with that, ice is on my list of the 10 best things ever invented right now!
