couldn't sleep last nite, and saw an infomercial on the jack lalane blender... they were comparing it to blendtec & vitamix in all the paces... and it runs $150.
does anyone have it and are they happy?
i have an older couple i talked into trying raw, that can't afford the hi powered blender they are looking at... this might be better on their pocketbooks. help them stay raw. i just don't want to recommend a bum deal.
any input would be appreciated
thanks!!!!
I this blender. I bought it after burning out the moter from my sixth blender at the discount stores. I could not afford a vita mix. I am very happy with it. It is a great substitute for those of us who have limited funds.

Hi Snowdrop,
You might want to check out this post the http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?p=294424#post294424
To summarize what I said, I wouldn't recommend the Jack Lalaine because the warranty is almost non-existent. We purchased a L'equip as for the office. It is cheaper thank Jack's and works really well, although definitely not as great as the Vita-Mix or the K-Tec (which I have at home).
Good luck,
EC

perhaps they changed their policy- because i just saw an advert 2 days ago touting a 100 year warranty. i'd say that's good enough for me... :);)
looking alot like a vitamix....it has 2 Horse Power Motor guaranteed for 100 years

They must have changed the policy because originally it was three months.

From the website:
"100 Year Limited Warranty on Motor "
so, it is only the motor that is covered for 100 years. Other parts might not last quite as long. But, since it's the motor of lesser blenders that I keep burning up....

Over a year ago I watched an infomercial for Jack Lalanne's Health Master 100 and purhased one. With over a year's experience of almost daily use, I must warn against purchasing this blender for the following reasons:
1. It is so loud I took to using ear plugs while using it.
2. Soon after beginning to use it the blade began to bind up. I figured out that "stuff" was seeping into what I assume are bearings that the blade spins on. With considerable rincing from the bottom I was able to keep it relative clean and functional.
3. About 3 months ago the entire base assembly that holds the blade came unscrewed and the bottom fell out allowing all the contents to flow all over the blender and counter. I don't think the base is suppose to come off and no amount of tightening it to get it back on keeps it in place. When the blender runs it invariably unscrews from the torque of the motor. My blender is now basically useless. Not to mention the extensive clean up after the assembly came loose.
4. Customer service or technical support is basicaly non-existent. When you call the support number all you get is a marketing person. I have not been able to talk with anyone who could help with the blender.
What good is a 100 year warrenty on the motor if the blender blade assembly falls apart?

I just got the Jack LaLanne Healthmaster 100 (couldn't afford the Vitamix). So far so good. I've only had it for about 10 days so I guess I'll have to wait and see. All I know is that it works way better than the blender I bought at the store. :)

Oh yeah, it is loud - but so is every other blender I've owned!;)

I think you should go for it. It may break down or do you great it is just the chance you take. I think it looks like it is worth the try. I may even try one down the road. I wish I could afford a vitamix, but I can not either. Good luck whatever you decide :)
I have had my J. L. Blender many months now. I still love it. I believe they improved the warrently. Yes, it is loud. I hear the other high powered blenders are loud too. Just my experience....

So far I haven't had any problems with mine. Also, I got it refurbished for $75.00 plus S&H which was only about $10.00 or $11.00. It is loud but so is every other blender I've used. It works for me!!!:D

I just got one of these on ebay for christmas, I couldnt let my parents or myself pay so much for a vitamix:(. I got it for $135, free shipping.
I have used a vitamix before but only to make GS in which case I didnt find it extremely impressive because my old Osterizer can do the same thing. I will definitely let you all know how it works in relation to a really good old blender and the vitamix.

I received my Healthmaster 100 the day before Thanksgiving and with the exception of 2 or 3 days I have been making smoothies daily. I love this machine and I have been very satisfied. The only problem I have had is keeping my kids little mitts off of it!:p I guess that's not such a bad problem to have though!:D

I got mine yesterday. I have not tried it yet though. Unfortunately I am doing a juice fast so I wont really be needing it this month but as soon as I do use it I will be sure to post about it

Ok everyone I used my Jack Lalanne to make soup tonight and it was amazing. Ive used the vitamix and honestly I think this is decent competition. I have nothing bad to say about it. I put in whole beets with the greens, a yam, celery, swisschard, mushrooms and about 12 ounces of water and with in 10 seconds it was liquid. Then I left it on and it got hot it was amazing. 3 cheers to saving $300+

I am still using my Healthmaster 100 almost daily and after 3 months I can say that I still think it is an amazing machine. I just cannot afford the Vitamix right now. I love my Healthmaster and it is so easy to use that my kids can even make their own smoothies - which I am happy to say they prefer over eating junk. :p
